Soyo finally came out with the card, the SY-USB20V

The card itself has NO rear ports, but rather 2 9-pin sets, and also includes a bracket for one of the 9-pin sets (2 USB Ports).

This is great for those of you who don't have USB 2.0 Motherboards and still have the need for USB 2.0
Price is $15.99 + $5.00 shipping, they appear to take paypal as well.

This is the first non-proprietary Front USB 2.0 card I have seen (Koutech makes one that requires their 3.5" bay for about $50).

I ordered this card last week and it arrived in 3 days. I'm just waiting for my scanner to arrive to check out it all out.

But I can tell everyone that the bracket with the internal 9-pin connection to the card actually has two 9-pin connectors, and it has 4 ports on the bracket itself.

Kind of weird though. Soyo's site displays a picture of a connecting bracket with only 2 ports, but if you look at the box in the picture in the background the label states "USB 2.0 cable with 4 USB 2.0 ports" and that's exactaly what it comes with. Why they show a picture with a 2 port bracket is beyond me, because mine certainley has 4 ports on the connecitng bracket.

Some final info; it installed and is running fine on my Soyo/Via chipset PIII mobo with WinXP. It came boxed with a paper notice saying "due to techinical difficulties, a driver could not be supplied with the product. Please visit Soyo.com to d'l the latest driver". So I did and it works like a charm.

I'll try and follow up with my scanning results using a USB 2.0 scanner, which arrives this week.

And one more point to clear up...unlike the title to this thread, the card has no front USB support. All 4 ports are on the secondary bracket and it is to be installed in the back of the case just like any other expasnion card. There is a front 4 port kit on Soyo's site, but it's $28, not the $16 that this one sells for.
