Fry's had the 52X BTC Drives about two weeks ago for the same price of $29.99. Didn't sell that well but I got one and it was a good deal in my opinion. Thanks!

I bought this drive when staples had the rebate deal.
I just put it in and man is it loud and noisy.
It also seems to start slower than my 16x did.
Anyone else have this drive?
Is this normal?
Is there a quieter fast drive out there?
I cannot live with this!

My Delta cdrom is definitely quieter than the 30X cdrom came with my office Dell computers 3 years ago.

I had this drive for 2 days when it was on sale at Staples (56x Drive but other than that identical). Here is my experiences:

- Put the drive in and noticed it was noisy as hell. Also noticed that is was not all that fast. Noticed that the CD tray was very loose. Drive seemed VERY cheap.

- Started to have problems copying CD to CD. THe Drive would spin down in the middle of the recording

- The next day the drive would not read files to my hard drive anymore. I tried to copy some files from Different CD's to my Hard Drive and I got error messages after a few files were copied.

I think this drive sucks and is cheap. I returned it. I now have an Asus s500 and it rocks. It is very reliable. It also have vibration control technology in it that makes it quiet for a 50x Drive (still a little noise but not bad). Very fast Audio Extraction.

These drives are crap. 52X speed that sounds like a 747. I have recently installed three of these drives in three different systems. Lots of noise and little performance. I purchased a 48X Toshiba. VERY QUIET at full speed, a little slow to start though.

Yeah I bought a delta 36x a few years and it's really loud. Kenwood trueX is a really quiet drive but cost a bit. I have an asus dvd 8x, really quiet but I like my 36x plextor as a reader = ]

I just instaled my new plextor cd-rw.
It is so much more quieter than that delta sh*t.
I just called staples to return the delta for a full credit.
So I guess I made 20.00 with the coupon.
Not bad!
I wonder if I will get the 20.00 rebate too?
Plus I am selling my old drive to a freind for 20.00.
That would give me 60.00 towards a new drive.
Maybe for once I will get even with staples ha ha.
