How do the fans connect if we don't use the Tailed Connector v2? Would we have to cut the molex connectors off of our fans and solder them onto bare wires?

Also.. I have a Digital Doc 5 and pretty quiet case fans already. Would something like this be of benefit to me over a Digital Doc 5?

Thanks again.

Why would the covers be a different size? They all should fit a normal cdrom size of 5.25".

The wires do not have to be soddered to connect. They are simply inserted in this like clamp thing and each wire is clamped down by turning in a screw, very simple. here's what I'm talking about.

I like them better then digital docs because digital docs are too electronic IMHO and what if it failed, then you might burn something up whereas the baybus will pretty much last forever.

My case has plenty of room for the switches sticking out, same case as you Salvador.

Ok.. I see how the fans connect now and where the tailed connector comes in. The tailed connector has the bare wires on one end and the molex connector on the other end, so you don't have to cut the molex connectors (which I don't want to do) off of my fans.

What is the difference between the tailed connector v1 and v2 though?

After I posted the question about the drive bay slug and case, I read the review and the reviewer had the same Antec case that we do.

I've got yet another question about the fan speed control. Are there just a couple of speed settings? All is see is 7-9v. Is that a range between 7-9 volts? Can you run it at 12 volts?

The more that I look at this stuff, the more I like that thing that looks just like this, but has the volume controls to control the fan speed. That's really slick. Too bad the dials look like cheap Kraco radio's from the 70's or something. Couldn't they find better looking control knobs?

wires v2 are longer. Otherwise, get out a soldering iron, solder, heatsink or electrical tape, and some wire, and add extensions yourself

at least that's what I'm planning on doing

(Thank you again for enlightening us about this deal, as I tried to make one myself, sorta, and it looks like @ss. Now it will actually look good )

will the switches fit behind a Antec SX1040 case door?
Yeah.. I asked that question earlier and realized that the review listed on the sales page shows the reviewer using an Antec case with a door.

Do you think that this is just a sale price or do you think the price is being lowered permanently?

If you have an old PSU laying around maybe from your old 386 machine you can just cut the molex connectors off that and attach them to the baybus.
That's what I did and it works great.
When you drill the holes in your cover plate I suggest using a drill press with the template. It holds everything firm so the bit doesn't wander.

ok, I'm sold, getting one. now What am I gonna do with all the spare parts ?

hey anyone know if some of the low setting or off can be disabled? Don't really want the cpu fan to have the option of turning off you know.

Why would you want the cpu fan on the baybus? Just don't hook it up

I guess I do have to make another switch and stick it somewhere for the cpu fan.

still, 20something for that is cheap, it looks so much better than the crap I can make. oh, at least now my gf won't laugh at me for burning myself with the soldering gun.

How much wattage does a typical 10-12" cold cathode light take? I'm just wondering if you can hook up your light kits up to the baybus without overloading it.

Is there anyway that I can just ask them to install a blue LED instead of dual colored ones? Cause my computer is completely blue lighted. I don't want any type of red or any other color in it.

$24 is a great price, I paid the $36 a few months ago. The 4 port fanbus I bought in March was $32.

Sweet! How do you like it? Did you get a pre-installed one, or did you drill one of your 5 1/4 bays? I can't wait for mine!!!

Well I was going to buy one for $24, but the price jumped up to $29 in the 4 minutes I browsed their site. Forget that, I'll buy one somewhere else.
