I get so confused with all the new types of motherboards and CPU's. Does this board only support i7 Intels or can you put in an i5 or i3 (which I assume are cheaper)?

only the core i7. This is a socket 1366 board. The other core i3 /i5/ i7 boards are socket 1156. Another easy way to tell is to look at how many memory slots are on the board. 1366 have 6 slots, 1156 have 4

Thanks for the linkage. I was straddling the fence on upgrading but finding this and a great price on a Core i7 960 elsewhere enticed me to pull the trigger. Ordered today and the Egg shipped today, both orders are due to arrive the 28th.

I ordered yesterday. I was on the fence about it over the weekend but decided to pull the trigger. Hopefully Sandy Bridge doesn't make me regret it. But the price was $304 shipped for the motherboard and 12GB of RAM, plus I figure $220 with tax for a i7 950. i doubt I would be able to beat that price/perfomance ratio with SB.

My 950 does 4.2 on the Sabertooth. Sandy is not going to break any records or make games look better than what they are right now or even in the next three years. Hoping that the SSD go down in price soon so we can break some records.

I got the board from Microcenter for $199. Works great after install of all of the drivers. Didn't like how it placed the SATA sockets though, but got everything to fit okay.
