I'm actually looking for one of these cool card. Been searching around for a month, cheapest around this time even at Egay.........these were sold around $240 plus s/h

NECXdirect has this retail version for $256.95 (type "radeon" in the search box&quot
there's a $30 off $250 coupon code. besides, free ups s/h on order $199 and over.

So total is $256.95-$30.00 = $226.95 shipped

No tax for CA...a plus for me.

ps. you know where to find the coupon, right.

Update: just got an email about my order got cancelled, they said it's validated. Guess the code can be used only if you have purchased their system.

I just figured out why you saw a s/h charge, you have to get to their site via Tekbargain's link (it's "Gateway Accessory Store) which still has free shipping but the price went up by $1.00

edit: you can go from Gateway.com and then click on "Accessory Store" and then you will see sign say "Free Shipping"

The retail comes with Lite versions of video editing software (not sure what exactly). The software is worth it if you plan on doing any video editing.

All-in-Wonder (AIW)'s have a TV tuner built on the card, that generates more heat than the chip.
To cut down on the total heat being generated, AIw's(OEM and Retail) are clocked like the OEM Radeons at 166/166.

Is this deal even warm? (enlight of GF3 release = tougher competition with nVidia, etc).

The cheapest deal on a Radeon AIW is still..

ATI's trade-up program has the AIW Retail for $240 + $10shipping - $30Rebate = $220.

Just send any old crappy video card as your trade-up (even 5year old ISA Trident video card will do).
The only downside I can see, is 4 to 6 weeks delivery.

I came soooo close to buying one yesterday, since I'm still using a G200 Marvel. Quadrupling the memory for insane rez, and disposing of my SLI for gaming speed, was a very tempting concept.

Alas, it doesn't support VFW, which means no A/V with NetMeeting or other videoconferencing apps. Maybe they'll come out with new drivers, or the Radeon II will support it, but for now I need to stick with what I've got.

honestly, geforce 2 chips (any flavor) beats this video card. but i have it because ATI packs a lot of good things on it: TV tuner, TV and video out, video in, hardware DVD decoder. it had all the bells and whistles, but for playing your kids' "earthquake 3" game or "full-life" it might not be so good =)

I agree...this card isn't the fastest for that kinda of money.

But I bought it for its versatility. People don't buy video card just because it plays Q3 the best.

Anyway, as many reviews have shown...this card still plays Q3 at a satisfactional level.

grr, and I use to sell these babies for $210 shipped...pretty good card though, brother is using one at home.

The VIVO doesn't have a TV Tuner, but has 32 MB more RAM, that's the major difference. The AIW also has more input options, and has DVI out.
