Warm - Corsair XMS 2x1GB for $157 @ Newegg

Not sure what happened to the gentleman on FatWallet with respect to his attempts to get the sale price over the phone, but I was able to successfully order the ram late this afternoon after my Saturday night order was cancelled on Sunday (CC has already been charged for $161). I never even received a confirmation email- just a cancellation notice; my account did have the sale price clearly listed under a "void" invoice, though.

I spoke to a CS rep online today, explained the situation, provided my order number, and after ordering the ram at full price ($201), checked my account and saw that the $40 discount had been applied. I did pay an extra $2 due to the price increase (the ram was actually taken off the website for a few hours this afternoon, I presume to make the price adjustment), but I really can't complain.

Newegg has always been good to me- hopefully, the problems others are having are due to some sort of misunderstanding/miscommunication, as I never received the impression that Newegg was trying to cheat me out of the discount.

I don't think Newegg will cheat you for the discount. Newegg so concern Customer Service. Why Newegg want to cheat your for that? Pick a phone & call them & tell them what your problem is. Communication!! Right?

I also have a problem with Mwave, just pick a phone & call them solve the problem. You are using credit card right? Call your CC company & dispute it.

Received mine today. The UPS package was as usual crush. I prayed the memory inside was ok. Opened the box and the plastic container the memory was in was bent about 90 degrees all the way to the very corner of one of the modules. It looks like the corner of the memory module is ok though.

Running memtest now @ 2-3-3-6 2.75v and no errors so far. I hope this memory works better than the original gig of ValueSelect I bought. Had to RMA those sticks 3 times.

EDIT: Here is a pic of the memory when I opened the UPS box. Luckily the memory is fine. Passed 19 passes of memtest+ with 0 errors. Hot deal indeed thanks OP!!

I got mine today too, I have it running at 2.5-3-3-6 2.6v right now cause thats what my last pair of ram was running at, haven't felt like changing it yet. I finally have more than 1GB of ram after a 1024mb stick of XMS and 2 different 512mb sticks of value select didnt wanna work with each other in my Lanparty UT.

man... so many people have such trouble with UPS. Never had any trouble at all here.

Yesterday ( Wed ) 3 phone calls, and was told AFTER she spoke to a supervisor, it should be ok to re-order at the weekend price, just wail for her email

This morning the email was there, so I re-ordered, so far the FULL price has been charged to my card, with nothing given back yet, ..... so the story continues

but if you did try to buy it on the weekend,

CALL THEM, and complain, you might still get the sale price

Just got my ram today and my tracking e-mail...and UPS did crush my box but the ram was okay. Anyways did anyone get the ram with the metal hooks like in the pics? Mines just came with the heat spreaders.

The memory in the pics reads as XMS3202v1.2 whereas the memory I got read as XMS3202v2.1. And, no, mine has no hooks.

I picked up the same RAM (well, with black heatspreaders) from Monarch for $160AR.

1) Price was more than the Newegg weekend deal but I bought before the Newegg deal.

2) Monarch took FOUR business days before actually shipping the item to me.

3) One stick is DEAD. Monarch doesn't even offer a DOA warranty on these (well, Newegg's like that sometimes also).

4) Sucks to be me.

Monarch suck. They sent me a dead Corsair stick before Xmas and then refused to help. I don't like Monarch.

Well, wanna hear something amazing? I had left the setup just sitting there, powered off. Just for the heck of it, hit the power button and it powered up fine. Go figure. :disgust: I'm gonna run Memtest on it.

Sure don't know about the egg anymore.

Sent them my re-order number, so they would refund the $39.00 difference 2 min after I re-ordered

2 DAYS later, the sent me an email, saying SORRY, my order was processed already.

BUT, the would give me a $39.00 credit at the egg.

That was 2 days ago, and still no credit posted to my acount.

Does anyone know if newegg charges a re-stocking fee, if I refuse delivery of this stuff.

This is rapidly turning into a BAD deal for me.

After a week of good usage, a stick just crapped out. Same result on other computers as well. Pretty sad piece of memory I must say. Never has memory failed so quickly before.

if anything, I was underclocking @ 192 to retain the insane timings. CPU was overclocked though. Im currently using my corsair valueselects.

Anyone have a stored copy of the original $40 MIR? I see they've updated it to a $50 rebate now, but when I purchased it, the rebate was for $40 if you purchased between this Hot Deal time frame. Think the purchase period was from 15 March to 24 March or something like that. The postmark date was 31 March so I need to find this particular rebate now!
