You should check out the 12 gauge wire at your local Home Depot. I was able to purchase in-wall (grey sheathing covering red and black insulated wires) for $.20 a linear foot. I picked up a little over 100 feet for a bit over $20.00. Home Depot also sells regular speaker wire which can not be installed in walls because of local fire codes - the 12 gauge wire of this type is a little more - about $.28 a linear foot. However, there have been some reports of the clear insulation on this wiring turning a funky green color over time, so I think I'd avoid it and just go with the in-wall wiring even if your going to conceal the wiring behind your furniture and along the baseboards. Can someone tell me what is the right gauge to use for home theater speakers?
Why not just purchase the 12 gauge in-wall wiring that I recommended above? The extra grey sheathing will act as an extra protective layer if you're running the wire under your carpet to the rears. This is some of the most durable wire around.Whats the bets place to get speakerwire for car ( rear speakers), with shipping, overall?
