Warm Deal - XBOX + FREE GAME!

This is my first deal, I have been watching these forums and I thought I'd contribute and give back to the anandtech community. My first post, sorry if it's not hot- but it's fair.


At my Target B&M they are selling

buy XBOX, get 1 FREE GAME (there is an advertised sign)

** EVERYONE should jump on this deal so we can all support microsoft, so they will "actually" make some fun games, 8 months later and I still have not seen any games except HALO :-(

My local ad had the free game as wreckless and tony hawk pro skater 3. Can you get other games

Can someone confirm what games we can choose from. I'm not driving all the way from Canada to US just to get Wreckless

You might be right - I did notice that while at my B&M Target "Wreckless" had affixed near it an Ad that said "Free game with Xbox purchase" - It left things a little ambiguos now come to think of it. (But Wreckless is still an awesome game)

My local Target was also giving Wreckless as the free game. There were several other games at pretty low clearance prices. The only one I remember for sure was Dave Mira BMX for $13.90.

It's only Wreckless and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 as the free games.

UFC: Tapout, Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2, Test Drive: Off Road are clearance titles that I can remember off the top of my head. 4x4 Evolution 2 might be one also, I forget...

This is the regular week long specials B&M stores run. Sunday through Saturday.

Yes, other games are available at Target, but only Wreckless and Tony Hawk 3 apply to this deal.

X-Box has plenty of great games in most genres.
If you're thinking of FPS games, then yes, Halo would be the only one.

I am not hating but i have to say morrowind is definetly one of the best games out for a console to date to bad ps2 cant run it. For being a new contender into the gaming industry they arent doing half bad with game selection. Yes ps2 ihas better game selection but come on isnt that a given? Too bad all of the games have the drawback of the hardware its being played on. Yes zelda is a great game but you aint going to see me pull out an old nes and play it. Just wish Sony's price would reflect their systems power. That way it would be cheap.

XBox = Intel CPU + GeForce3 + Harddisk + DVD drive + better than SB Audigy sound card (because XBox has realtime AC3 encoder) + case + network card + gamepad ...

We all know that the console hardware (not only xbox, playstation and cube as well) manufacturing cost is higher than the price we're paying, so I won't complain. It's the way they market the product.

Just wait about 2 weeks and buy the thing at the reduced price, then you can buy whatever game you want and come out the same... (See the other thread about Xbox price drop).

At CUSA you get a free game (you get to choose between 4 of them) and a MIR for a free DVD remote when you get an Xbox.

I can't remember what all of the games are; Blood Wake is one of them.

And even more on the way. The current and next quarter releases are all that are keeping me from ditching my xbox for a PS2. Now is the time when you PS2 owners should be getting jealous.
