That calphalon deal sounds pretty good, depending on what size/type pieces they have... Thanks for the heads-up!

An ad in today's newspaper has leather executive desk chairs of various heights and styles in black or taupe - styles/colors vary by store.

Retail $130 to $200 closeout for $50 to $70.

Might be worth a look.

I have purchased many items there and I consider their closeouts to be very good prices for brand name merchandise.

edit: our store had high back chairs for $70 made by furniture at work for Office Depot SKU 267481 in a mushroom/taupe color. The low back chairs were same manufacturer also from Office Depot and were black $50.

They buy closeouts and one of a kind designer items. Each store has slightly different stock and they frequently close for a week or more to restock with new items. Good place to find great deals but you never know what you're going to find when you go.

There is on of these stores around the corner from me(Baton Rouge, La) and I have bought lots of stuff from there. great to outfit your house with, I picked up a bunch of candles/holders, lead crystal decanter set, wine glasses(cheap), luggage, mirrors, all kinds of stuff although I have to say that every time I go in there I am the only guy in there(that doesn't work there). could be coincedence or maybe its just got that kind of stuff in there, anyhow I find them to have great deals but like someone said earlier stock is random from place to place.

Yeah, they are quite often pretty slow around here to. The exception is when they reopen for a big sale after having been closed a while. If that's when you're going then go early. Their really awesome deals sell quickly.

The thing I cannot understand about this outfit is how they can afford to pay rent on an unused building for six or eight months while there is nothing in there, and then they open up for a week or two, and close back down. The rent must be killing them. But then I
guess the new business model is that you don't have to make a profit for the long run, there IS NO long run anymore. (Locally the
place has a lot of artsy-craftsy stuff and not much else)
