WARM?? Dual Layer DVD @ BB

I just stopped at Best Buy in Chicago and noticed they had some pretty good deals on DL media

$35 for a 10 pack of Verbatim DL ($3.50/DVD)
$30 for a 15 pack of Memorex DL ($2.00/DVD)

Thought I'd pass it on in case anyone was looking

I got mine at Staples, I paid $5 for a 3 pack, that was a good deal. They were on clearance, but still in the store. so YMMV, but still for Verbatim discs it was a good deal.

No kidding, I bought my first DVD+R DL's at compusa last week (3-pack of memorex for $7.99) all 3 failed while closing the disk.

I bought a spindle of 10 verbatim +R DL for $19.99 2 weeks ago at Bestbuy.com, chose in store pick up to save on shipping. But the store I chose for instore pickup does not have it available, so they shipped it for free. So $2 each Verbatim DL disc. I would not touch Memorex DL disc with a 10' pole

Why would you not want to use Memorex? They are a great brand.

I bought them the same time and they had free shipping.

Why would you not want to use Memorex? They are a great brand.

Cuz they're not great, they're just OK for DVDs.

Verbatim is higher quality.

Ditto here.

I cleaned out two Staples in town and grabbed all their Verbatim DL 3-paks...then decided to grab all their 16x DVD+R and DVD-R 10-paks for $3 each as well. Excellent media for an excellent price!

Memorex has used all kinds of various discs. In this case, its true because these DL discs are RITEK, which aren't the best. However, Memorex has used Tayo Yuden in the past, which are simply the best there is, I've also had RICOH Memorex DVD's. It all has to do with the disc manufacturer, not the brand on the label.

It amazes me how little people actually know about media.

Last pack of Memorex I bought, not a single disc worked. Worst brand I've tried.
