It is an excellent printer. Picked it up for a business at $139 after rebate with one of those previous Dell promos. The picture quality is amazing, drooled all over it but don't need a printer that nice right now (to lazy to print photos and my Canon BJC-6000 still prints excellent photos). There is no CF direct interface, that will be the "D" series.

At our Sams Club (Columbus, OH), it is only $168.72 right now and after the $30 rebate your final total is $138. That is the best price I have seen and I purchased this printer last weekend. It is awesome at printing pictures!!! My father has the Canon s900 and I can not tell the difference between the two in the quality of the pictures.

Sam's Club here in Batavia Illinois has it for $148. This one is the i850s, the s denotes that it's shipped WITH the USB cable! A way better deal than what Best Buy is offering. Get a free 1 day pass and have at it.

Not just for the month, but for the year!

For all of you who say the i850s is not the same printer... just peel off the i850s sticker on the hood of the printer - voila! i850 logo engraved right into the aluminum!

$118 is smoking!! ($148 - $30 MIR from Canon)

Actually the i850s is a printer sold at Sams. Sams includes the $30 off and a cable. It will NOT qualify for the $30 rebate.

This printer does an outstanding job on both text and photos. In fact I bought it for both. It is fast, quiet and easy to service. The supplied photo applications are not my favorite, but that is purely personal.

Sams....? I've never heard of them. Do they have a web site? I want to find out if they have one near Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA.

This i850 is an incredible printer. I did a search for the lowest price, and applid Canon's MIR on it, and got it for ~$135. Borderless 4x6 prints, individual ink tanks (you can find generic tanks for about $3 per), and it is fast and quiet! Has parallel and USB ports on it. There are no media slots on the printer, so you can't print directly from a memory card.

The droplet size of this printer is 2 picoliters. The s820 has a drop size of 5 picoliters. Even though I think they claim the same resolution, this one has much smaller droplets. THe s820 can address each one of the pixels that the i820 can, but the drops overlap on the s820.

You won't be disappointed with this printer. Oh, and it is QUIET!!

The i850 is fast, and does make some tremendouse looking photos. However, it does lack the two photo ink cartridges that the s820 has. Even though the i850 has the smaller ink size, I think for photos the s820 is going to have a slight edge when it comes to color saturation and hues. Both are excellent printers though. I was actually going to pick this one up last week from BB using the 10% coupon and MIR, when I got in on the buy.com s820 deal instead. At the price I paid for the s820, the i850 was not worth the extra $100. I do like the metal lid on it though.

Well I got it from sams and am turning turning in the Rebate. Nothing to loose and $30 to gain.

Aren't the extra "photo colors" on the 820 only 1/6th density of some of the existing colors like cyan?

Everything I've read says the quaility of the photos is at least equal to the 820 plus the printer is a lot faster.

Time is something you can take to the bank. Unless your time is worth nothing.

But none of that maters. I don't care about the quality of the 820 or even that much if I get the rebate.

The output from this thing is unfrikcen believable

So happy with this xmas gift.......
