Just a follow-up regarding the 147 GB drive from Buy.com (actually, shipped from ComputerBrain.com, a small shop in IL). This is apparently an advertising mistake involving a mismatched SKU -- they shipped me a Li-On battery for an HP printer! I've never even heard of a printer that had a battery...

Curious to know if anyone else who ordered actually received the SCSI hard drive.

Anyways, though ComputerBrain has very restrictive return policies, they've agreed to pay for return shipping and a full refund.

Sometimes if it looks like too good a deal...

Aug 29 Note from Buy.com - Buy.com has sent the following message: "These item(s) on your order have shipped: 147.1GB Ultra320 80 pin SCA 2"

and the fedex tracking number says it is on the truck. did it all look good for you until you received it, or how did it unfold?

also the tracking number says it originated in NV....

All looked good (though I didn't notice any shipment from NV), and the Buy.com order clearly listed the item as the hard drive.

received a package, not a 147GB hdd though, not even going to open it. feels like a laptop battery...will call them tomorrow

oh well, you never know

i have contacted computer brain via email without so much as a return email, i have tried to call without luck, so i will call my cc company and let them deal w/ this...
