No surprise that all memory is much cheaper right now, but I thought this might interest a few people who aren't looking for 400 fsb and want low latency at 333. It's rated at 2-2-2-5-1T. I bought a dimm for a machine I'm building for a friend, using an Epox 8K9AI and a retail XP 2200. I would have posted a link, but their server is down for maintenance right now.

Edit: links

Anyone know how well it overclocks?

Edit: Also, is it complatible with nForce2 boards, especially the ASUS and Epox ones?

This will work with Epox/Asus NF2 mobos. I read it over in ambmb about these. IMO, better option could be corsair DDR333 @ googlegear they are CAS2 and priced at 85.00 bucks.

I bought the Corsair when it was priced at $87, for my EPoX EP-4PEA+. It would not run stably at any settings lower than 2-7-3-3. I then bought the Hyper X pc3000 memory for $90 and am in the process of an rma for the Corsair. The Kingston is running at 2-5-2-2 and I have overclocked to 390 mhz and it ran for 24 hours with no problems. Granted, not much of an overclock, when the ram is rated for 370 mhz anyway. I could not get the Corsair to overclock without running into problems. Tried upping voltages, all the standard tricks, I couldn't get it to work.

So, I can't really speak for the pc2700 stuff, but the pc3000 is great. And it's only a few dollars more than the Corsair pc2700. I have heard nothing but rave reviews about the Hyper X memory. Newegg has some ratings on their site and you can read there about other people having problems with the $85 stick of Corsair.

Seems Corsair is now using newer Samsung chips and these don't perform as well as the stuff from last year. Hopefully this helps some...

My very first post here,
I bought a stick of 256MB Hyper X 3000 from Fry's a couple weeks ago for $29 AR and let me tell you that I have it running at 414Mhz in a Abit BH7. I just found that Outpost has the 512MB Hyper X 3500 for $129.99 which at that price is great as this RAM is ranked with Corsair. So you might want to spend the extra dollars and go with the Hyper X 3500.

i ordered this same thing about 2-3weeks ago for 74.50 , look for these prices to drop even more...

works great in my asus a7n8x deluxe mobo

it is at stock speeds though, but confirms they work well with the nforce2 mobos

Well, I know that the 2700 will work with p4g8x
I would love to purchase the 3200 or 350o but I don't know if they're compatible with p4g8x or not...

I bought 2 512 PC2700 for dual channel ddr. Hope these sticks work well with my mobo

I have 2 512 sticks of pc2700 I got from Newegg for $75 shipped. I ran Memtest for 5 hours with no errors at stock speed. Can someone tell me how I can check the timings in XP Home to make sure it is running @ 2-2-2-5 T1. Thanks a lot Bros

I want to order the HyperX from newegg, but I have a few questions regarding RAM and need some help!

I just got in on the Dell 4550 deal and was looking for some memory. Does it matter if I get anything higher than pc2700 ram? Since the Dell systems Ive read are not overclockable? Is it worthwhile to get some PC3500 400MHz RAM for upgrading to another rig in the future? or should I stick to lower latency cas 2 PC2700? and is the lower latency worthwhile if I can't OC anyways? I'm kinda confused from reading all the memory threads, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I was trying to debate the same thing. I started a thread here about it. It made up my mind, not spending more for 3200, getting 2700...

Check out eXcaliberPC.com, they have awesome prices on HyperX stuff, and a really high reseller rating. Another big plus, is FREE SHIPPING.

PC2700 256MB: $43
PC3000 256MB: $46
PC3000 512MB: $86
PC3500 512MB: $128

Also, if you're going with any of the nForce2 boards, get the 2 sticks of 256MB and run them using the Dual Channel Memory.

but it says that some are not compatible with nforce2 2.0 mobos. You can't return it for that reason. I heard they worked with the 8rda+ though.

Well, from all I've gathered, the regular Kingstons dont work very well with the nForce2 motherboards, BUT the HyperX ones work famously with them. It stinks you can't return them for that reason if you have an nForce2 mobo, but its a chance I was willing to take (besides, if it fails I have an MSI KT400, right? Right!)
