haha I'm tempted to go mod myself some earphones but it does seem awfully insane. =P Plus you do stand a chance of...well...injuring yourself lol

Say, what do you suppose the legality would be of unmarking them as Kosses, modding them like crazy, testing them for quality assurance, then reselling as your own custom brand?
DemonSound Perfection 3722's for $79.99 MSRP hahahaha...

That would be quite humorous I believe. Modded out like crazy

That's Matthew, my drummer.... and my son. He's almost 7' tall, I'm 6'2". I had to mod the
heck out of his Yamaha electronic drum set just so he could play them. The pictures were for a magazine article, and we got carried away. I didn't put the pix of us with drumstick up our nostriles... thought that to be over the edge.

In one of the other pix, he is wearing my Sony 7506 headphones. He usually wears the Koss buds cause he just likes them. I can't get him to let me buy him the ER-4P/S ER buds. Sometimes he just likes the closed headphones. What can I say... he's a drummer.

BTY, I'm using the 1and1 web space that you guys posted. I'm happy with them, and it gives me enough space to put some tunes up. Thanks!

buy a pair of sony MDR E888 and you'll never want to listen to another pair of earbuds again

i know people complain its lack of bass... but after getting a pair of KOSS KSC35 and tried to compare with it... the 888's sound quality is just far more superior

they are ultra expensive tho. japanese link

after ~2 hours of listening i prefer these to my sennheiser mx500 earbuds. i guess i'll break these in before making any more comments about the quality.

Earbuds are so cheap its a reasonable idea to buy more than one brand and see what you like. There are just too many variables to point at any and say there are the best (unless you like the Sennheisers which are the best), fit in the ear, efficiency, cords, boxes, not to mention personal musical preferences.

Headphone sound is basically different from speakers in a room, technically more accurate, but almost all music is mixed expecting room ambience and the time delayed sound from the right channel going to the left ear (as well as first to the right, and vice versa).

I bought one of those Sony EX71s. The noise isolation is great, it's comfy, but when you compare it with something else, like my $15 unknown-model Sony earbud, the sound sucks. I suppose they're really just made for those noisy subway or plane trips...

the 888's are kinda uncomfortable if you wear them too long...the buds are bigger than average (i think it's almost the size of a penny!) so they'll hurt your ears after about an hour of use, but the sound outta these is definitely awesome. The ex71's are nice also (I had those for about 3 months before my MD got stolen) and definitely have great bass...using a pair of cheapo Senn's (MX500) coz I break or lose my earbuds waaay too often now... The Senn's are decent but are no comparison to the 888's.
