Going by the specs, its probably an NEC ND-1100A.

That's a pretty good price. You can't get an OEM ND-1100A for that cheap.

It sounds exactly like the NEC 4x burner I got with my Dell. If it is, then I think this is a great deal.

This is a really good price with no rebates. If you don't trust TigerDirect at all, you can wait until Sunday to get the drive for $10 less. However, that's after $30 in rebates.

Just got mine yesterday. It's actually an NEC 1100 with Nero. No cables, manuals, etc. I guess it has a one year warranty from Iomega, but can't confirm that. I read that somewhere. Works good though.

No, it looks like it's only a +RW writer... but it can read -/+RW. I think I'll pass.

tangman asked if it was +/- because mbarys said it was an NEC 1300A in Nero, which is in fact a +/- drive

edit: however, i'm thinking mbarys is mistaken and that it's an NEC 1100A

I think the key has to be Tiger Direct, that ought to sound alarm. Who cares about the drive when the ones selling it have such a spotty reputation. No deal for me.

someone should just take one for the team and blow up tigerdirect and all its servers so people stop posting deals for them

but seriously...

if you wanna risk tiger, this is a good deal. Lots of people come out wihtout problems, but alot have problems too.

I have ordered many great products at a good price from Tiger Direct, and never once had a problem. I'm not ballsy enough to buy refurb cpus or motherboards.

Matt

Can you please confirm if this is the 1100 or 1300? Obviously this is a big difference since the 1300 supports +/- DVD Recording.

Thanks!

iomega makes 3 dvd burners.

one is dvd+r/rw, one is both. 16x cdrw on both. i'm figuring these are the 1100a and 1300a.

they also sell a new one that has both, and dvd-ram and a 24x cdrw also.

im hoping that maybe they ran out of the 1100a and started putting 1300a's in the box or something wonderful like that.

Sorry, it is an 1100. Works great though. Burned 5 dvd's this weekend and all is good.

Matt

Thanks!
