Warm-ish: Full first season of Farscape DVD's $145

I was lookin around for Farscape DVD's (the show on the Sci-Fi channel) and the best price I could find was $145.37 shipped free at Buy.com. This included Season 1 volumes 1 through 11. 11 dvd's total.

Price was $160.37

= $145.37 shipped free!

Seemed like a good deal (even though they are still relatively high prices for 2 episodes per dvd) after seeing the same dvd's for sale for $212.89 at Amazon. They sell for more on Ebay too, so if you like Farscape, and have been thinking about buyin the dvd's.. it's a decent deal.

That's a far cry from the Buffy Season 1 and 2 DVD boxes...jeez!
Yes even Season 2 is like 6 discs only, but farscape is still way more cash...(it's 4 episodes per dvd for buffy).

But JEBUS! That's just crazy!

Oy! You'd really have to be a superfan to cough up $145 for a single season. I like watching the show as much as the next geek, dweeb or spaz, but since I don't save money by living in my parents basement there's no way I could afford this. However I'd love to rent the collection for a superfan style weekend. Anyone know a place that would rent an entire season and not just selected episodes?

I used to watch this show until my cable company decided to move the sci-fi channel to digital cable. The last episode I got to see was the first episode of season 2. Fack, I'm still psised about it, but there's no way I'm going to pay for digital cable.

I like the show as much as any other sci-fi geek, and while I'm getting the DVDs, I find it's better to buy 'em slowly, rather than all at once. I got a few from Deep Discount DVD for like $12 each with free shipping, and then I used a Half.com coupon to get two more for $10 apiece before shipping. I wish they'd put more than 2 on a DVD, though. Buffy and X-Files both have 4 to a disc.

Yeah, but to be fair, season 1 of buffy is only 12 eps, while Farscape is 22. It's still expensive for a box set, but not something a fan wouldn't mind paying though. I know I'd pay that much (heck, probably twice as much) for the B5 box set that's coming out this fall.

The season 2(22 episodes just like Farscape, and same length far as I know) box can be had for $42...

So that means Farscape on DVD costs well over 3 times as much money...

That's really unreasonable, to milk your fans for this much cash, regardless of whether it's 2 episodes to a disc or not(I'm sure the extra 10 cents they spent on the extra discs justifies marking it up another $100[yes this is sarcasm]). I'm sure they'll make a real mint if people actually buy this box...

Then again maybe they jack the price up because they figure only so few people watch anyway(compared to other shows since it's on cable and all) that they have to somehow make up for this by making the price insane.

Maybe we'll wait until they remainder these then dumpster dive for them! rotflmao

Yeep.. Where is the $44 price for the season 2 buffy box? I paid a decent amount more for it (Albeit, without really looking for any better deals). $44 for the amount of use 22 45 minute episodes gives you is a wonderful deal..
Odd though, UK seems to have seasons 1-4 released on DVD, while US only has 1 and 2. Unfortunately the UK boxes are way too expensive =(
