Reporting back:
So I've installed the speakers now.
Remember, I'm not an accurate judge of sound quality.
Most apparent is the mild hiss or electronic signal that I've noticed. This is the kind of noise one notices on most speaker
systems when they are turned on, except a bit louder.
It could be a defect or not. Then again I sit about a 1' to 1 & 1/2' from the speakers.
However, despite this, the sound dynamics is fantastic, best sound I've heard in a while. Much better than the Cambridge DTT2500 I had before.
This is even before I get some sort of cable to feed a digital signal to the control pad/Alien saucer thingy.
(I believe the mild hiss issue is a result of the RCA cables, I could very well be wrong).
Sounds from DVDs are fantastics, even in the 5 channel stereo mode. (haven't heard Dolby Digital just yet, I don't have the right cables)
Sounds from MP3s are fine.
Bass strength is more than enough for me.
I plan on adding a toslink optical cable from my PS2 to the saucer.
I have no immediate plans on selling off the system until I see if use of digital cable/toslink will reduce or eliminate the hiss/inactivity noise.
Anyone with the same issues or suggestions please don't hesitate to post.
Rating: 4/5 (1 off for the noise issue, otherwise a 4.5 or 5)
