Just ordered this card earlier today. Hoping to use it for a while just to record some of my shows and maybe put it in a dedicated system for a pvr.

Now my wife won't complain about recording Buffy, Smallville and the Shield on tuesday nights when I go to school. I can also start recording adult swim on comedy central.

I can't wait.

This card's definitely not as good as the Asus TV880 in terms of video quality (has a newer better chip) and what you get with the bundled software. I just ordered one from Newegg, $79

It certainly is, much better resolution and quality over the old chipset all these other tuners use.

Umm, I am looking into getting a new TV tuner card. My ATI TV wonder PCI works great, but its really showing its age (in terms of hardware). I want a card that can let me archive TV recordings via the S-Video input directly to SVCD (Mpeg 2 480x480 res) w/o having to convert to it from another format (like avi to mpg). Will either the Leadtek or the Asus do that? Also, is the Leadtek one on sale the "Deluxe" edition? ppl have made complaints about the fact that the "vanilla" or standard edition of the card only supports mono sound.

Actually Leadtek has a better tuner out called the WinFast Expert which uses the chipset the Asus uses. Don't know where you can get it though, I haven't seen it selling anywhere yet.

anyone else have some input on a comparison between this card and the ASUS? The screenshots look good on both. The bleachers? in the Leadtek capture looks weird. Is that on the original or an artifact? The ASUS does not come with FM Tuner.

Careful with those slot loading dvd dude1, they have a higher failure rate than tray dvd players...

I got one of these a few weeks back at $60, it is a great card, but I'm wondering what PVR type software do you guys use? I'm looking for TIVO type schedule functions with a guide that's maybe using the titantv.com site interface.

Get the new Winfact PVR software from leadtek. It has EPG support with titantv.com

After using this card on 2 different PC's all I can say is WOW. Yea, maybe there's a better card/chip out there, but this one's good enough for my purposes. All the software and hardware they include with the card is worth the price. It's really an incredible value IMHO.

Can this card record in AVI instead of using the codecs in it or can you override it? I know watching just TV alone on this card is awesome but recording it is something to be desired as there were a lot of blocks and snow.. I had it once and sold it due to this problem.

Can anyone reccomend a Tuner card for a laptop? I recently purchased a laptop and would love to add a tuner card to it as I use the one in my PC all the time (ATI AIW). I have looked a little but everything I saw looked to be outdated and of poor quality compared to what is availible in the form of a PCI card. Would USB or PCMCIA be better? Are there any USB 2.0 external cards availible? Are there any cards with the newer chipsets like mentioned in this thread?

And help would be appreciated. TIA.
