Warm!! Linksys BEFW11S4 v.2 wireless router for $50 after BestBuys MIB card and broadband signup.

Ok went to best buys on Sunday and was checking out the networking stuff and i saw the linksys wireless router with 4 port switch for like $99....

at that point nothing caught my attention..except that it also had one open box..with was marked down to $85 bucks..so i was like what the heck lets try it out..

anywhoo go to the counter and buy the thing..the sales associate tell me that there is a best buy card rebate with the router for $50 bucks...

so for me its going for like 35+tax approx like $37 bucks..i checked out some reviews..they say it a darn good router....

But mine was an open item...but for all u other folks who been waiting to get a router its not a bad for like $50 bucks.....

what do u guys think?


EDIT::: i did not see that you would have to sign up to the darn broadband service...so its still a good deal..but not as how..

The only problem i am having with this thing is how do u setup static ip with my machine...on this router..

other than that..its works great even with a USB wireless adapter..with i got for like 55 bucks..so the darn adapter cost's more than the router..go figure..lol

Strange I got the Preferred Customer Weekend, and the $50 Gift Card is for "purchased and activation of any High Speed Broadband Internet at Best Buy and the purchase of the Linksys 4-Port Router (BEFRS41) or the Linksys 2.4GHZ Wireless Access Point/4-Port Router (BEFW11S4). (*excluding MSN DSL)"

So don't you also need to purchase DSL service to receive the $50 GC? What does your rebate say?

Can anyone confirm this price is nation-wide? Don't see it mentioned in the ad, and online price is $141.99 with no GC offer. Even without the giftcard, $99 for this thing is hot. It may even turn out to be better than my Amazon order.:Q

It's not hard to give your computer a static IP with this router. The router will have a LAN IP of something like 192.168.1.1, and by default, the DHCP pool starts at .100 and goes to .149. Go into your computer's TCP/IP settings, and give it an IP of something like 192.168.1.50, set the gateway to the router's IP, enter your DNS servers, and you're off.
