From Newegg....Not sure if its a great deal or not but it caught my eye considering there is no elaborate price match process that includes rebates coming from all sorts of directions that these usually have

Seems like a decent drive, the only potential problem could be the 2MB buffer. But all in all, a nice drive

About 15 minutes and yes it does CDR.

The retail Optorite Duel DVD+/-R/RW Burner with a one year warranty, bundled software and 4x DVD+R media by Taiyo Yuden for $10 to $20 "less" looks like the better deal.

does anyone know of a printed ad with a price like this for a NEC 1300A? I need it for the amex pricematching... before this thread gets taken over about that.. Amex still has best value guarantee for printed ads, not websites. so .. anyone know of any ads in the back of any magazines?? thanks

just a point on the buffer..it is no more an issue than 2 mg buffer on a 52x drive...My Nec 1100A 4x dvd+r/rw (CAV) burns full dvd in 15 min or about 37x cdr burn speed...a 52x cdr burner burns at about avg 37x speed...so my liteon 52246S with 2 mg buffer is fine and so is this 2mg buffer on my 4x dvd writer

I'm going to wait till Lite-On's burner comes out. Supposed to retail @ $130!...By Christmas they'll be under $100 for 4x as alot of 8x burners will be out by then.

Your're way behind the times, the Lite-On duel DVD+/-RW drive come out months ago and that $130 price was just another false internet rumor, the Lite-On drives retail for around $285. The low price on pricewatch.com is $247.50.
