Make sure you sign up for the Newegg pricealert and then you will automaticaly get an email when they are back in stock. That is how I have got the last 4 boards I purchased from Newegg.

Today I received the 2 I ordered. Both came completely plain: motherboard in an anti-static bag, packed in a plain white box with foam. No cables, no manual, no digital connector and no atx back plate. I'm beginning to wonder if it's even worth $39 as it comes shipped.

What more do you need for $39 delivered, a CPU built-in?
1. Cables? Only cable I could see needing is floppy, "if" you still use those.
Has on board USB, video, Lan and audio, and HD's/CD's come with their own cable.
Most cases have front USB cables pre-attached.
2. Manual? Shipped manuals are outdated before they go out the door. Download current manual.
3. Digital connector? Huh? Even new Epox 8RDA+ boards have that as a $15 option, and you want it with a $39 shipped board?
4. ATX plate? Not needed for 95% of ATX owners, as this configuration uses standard ATX format, but replaces 2nd serial port with video instead.


If it is not the superboard you expected for $39, please send it back so others that are waiting for this great deal can buy it.

Newegg is just inconsistent with refurbs. Some people report getting all accessories with refurbs and I've got 3 newegg refurb mobos that came plain whiteboxed.

Manuals dont come with Mobo's anymore. They come on CD, not paper. How hard is it to download the manual from Asus website?

By the by, since all of those accessories always end up going into a box Ill never open again, Id trade those accessories away for $35 off anyday. If retail packaging is really that important, then maybe you should stick to retail pricing.

Newegg states that, they know they aren't always gonna get the box, maybe the manual, probably the cables, that's why you've got 1/4 the regular price.

This is def OT, but here goes... Has anyone tried to install this in a IBM NetVista A30p? Seems like a great fit but I am unsure if a flex atx would accomadate it or if the powersupply would be enough?

I have kinda notice in the past that whenever newegg had refurb mobo with large quantity, it's usually from the manufacture or something like that which often means bare board only and nothing else...except EPOX, always have good luck with EPOX refurb....

This board is too big for a netvista case.
I even bought an nforce flex-atx on fleabay and it didn't fit! The one PCI slot just sticks out enough to not fit. (on the flex board that is)
I have given up on my netvista case and all my collected parts will be in the fs/ft forum soon. I only found an ECS s370 board that fits, but NONE of the cables reach.
BTW: I'm just setting up my refurb nforce now (thanks to kvm) and the built-in video is a no-go, and it is enabled in the bios.
Also, make sure to D/L the manual supplement from Asus! The jumper setting for the FSB is wrong in the original version.

Wow out of stock already, was just about to buy one.


So for people who have gotten your board setup up already post your experiences. So far 1 guy said he can't get the onboard video to work. I want one the next time around and want to make sure most people have them working great.

LOL...aggravation is an understatement. The moral I think is to not build a system around a case. I'm probably gonna get that small desktop case for 45 shipped from newegg.
BTW: My refurb nforce worked great. There is a vague option in the bios to set the vid to primary and it was set to secondary by default. The nvidia combo drivers are newer and better I think than Asus. Do not d/l the LAN update from windowsupdate.com! I couldn't find the computer on the network after that installed.
Also, this board SMOKES the ECS K7S5a that was originally installed.
