Call me a video card idiot, but does Newegg ever have refurb capture cards like these?
I remember that deal. The Andara Project - Technical Support for the Original Andara Bare-Bones PC Kit
Yeah, the refurb descriptions are usually sparse. You should always try and track down the non-refurb description.Originally posted by: Delbert

I suckered for a 9800 pro in neweggs refurb list a couple weeks ago. I say suckerd because it turned out to be one of those 128 bit Sapphire.
The ad said nothing about being 128 bit, and I didnt know about Sapphires little scam they had going or I would have looked at the pic closer.
Win some, loose some, but I?ll be licking this wound for a while.
Problem is, they aren't cheap.Originally posted by: MisterE
rhacquer, You should check out all of the categories in NewEgg's refurb section. The "Video Device & Add On" category lists several capture devices and cards.Originally posted by: rhacquer

newegg says they dont test any of the refurb products, so.....
anyone had trouble with a defect refurb parts b4?
I'm guessing that the refurbs are from people who originally bought this card because they thought it would flash to an XT, but the cards failed, and where returned.Originally posted by: epileptic

I ordered a 9800 pro refurb last week...it was a 256bit sapphire the one for like 156
when i got it the heatsink had some bent up pins and was pretty caked with dust..
which wouldnt of been so bad if the card didnt have artifacts and checkerboards in all my games..
has anyone had good luck with a newer refurb vid card? Its a risk but im only out like 6 dollars shipping it back to newegg and id be willing to try again ....but definitely a gamble.
EDIT: the link at the top is the card i got... it did have the hynix memory and the reviews of the same card non refurb shows lots of R360's ....which is why its so tempting to try again

this one is actually a 9800xt in disguise: it uses a 9800xt pcb, and can therefore be flashed to a true 9800xt, ie you can take a bios from a real 9800xt and flash it, instead of using a modified one like most cards.

Anyone else get an All-In-Wonder? They have the 9800 Pro for only $205...not bad.
This is really tempting, though I will miss the accessories like the remote and component out. Seems like its about $250 elsewhere online.
