What's the verdict on dual rails? I've always stuck to fat singles but this is a good deal if its got the oomph

It's an older unit. 2009, OCN, Anand, and Bit-Tech all have reviews on it that give it an 8/10, or 9/10. It has some updated internals for newer hardware since then for newer CPU certs. Like A8, and A10 that require more on the 3v rail. But otherwise it's the same unit.

From what I gathered, it's actually about a 550watt. So it's decently rated, and very efficient (85.3% between 20-100%).

That being said, reviews show they typically only last 3-4 years. Which to me, is still a long time. I would never leave a PSU in a PC after warranty period.

For the price, it's pretty hard to pass up.

Ive never been big on OCZ stuff for a while now. I dont know, im partial to Seasonic, Antec, Corsair. I have a hard time going with others.

I've had the 600W version for over 2 years now. So far it has been reliable, but I have no affinity for OCZ hardware. I already dumped their SSD, and am expecting to have to replace this PSU within the next 12 mos based on their track record.

I did want to mention though that the cables are very short. That may be a problem with most modular supplies, but it caused me unexpected complications in my 550D case. FWIW.

Oh yeah! PCP&C; I remember that when the ModStream first came out a lot of people doubted OCZ PSU's could be any good then everyone realized they are were.

Thanks CP, I'm in for one. Something to keep in mind though, it's a modular unit (pro) and its cables can be a little short for bottom-mount full tower cases. Luckily mine is going in a mid tower.

I still have a working 520w OCZ PSU with the 3 pots on the back to raise or lower the 3 main power lines if need be.
