It's got just the basic features/functions but does the job of playing mp3 just fine.
I don't understand why Panasonic doesn't sell more CD/MP3 players in the U.S. I think there's a great demand for cd/mp3 players in the U.S. Maybe not? Maybe some pressure from the recording industry in the U.S. delaying the introduction of cd/mp3 players? In Korea and Japan (and the rest of Asia), Panasonic alone sells about 7~8 models anywhere from $50~200 in addition to several dozen models by other companies (iRiver, Samsung, Nezz, Sorrell & DigitalWay are the top manufacturers of cd/mp3 players). I bought my Panasonic in Korea which supports ID3 tag and works for 120 hrs. on batteries (using both internal/exteral batteries). It's just as slim as the slimX. If I were to buy again, however, I would probably go with a slimX since navigating through the cd is much easier with slimX and it has much more features than any other cd/mp3 players (even the top of the line cd/mp3 player by Panasonic does not have half of the features provided by slimX). However, the model posted here is a good deal for the price (the current retail price is about $50 in Asia while it can be bought at much less price at online stores).
