Bought this from Target a month ago. This is the BEST mp3 cd player... While no ID3 support. The player has superb sound quality, good looking design/color, and AMAZING battery life. Build quality is great, way better than the cheap sonicblue riovolts... Rated 37+ hours (not the 48+ as BB link indicates) off 2 AA batteries, but I got over 60 hrs from a pair of NiMH AA batteries. I go to the gym everyday for lil over 2 hours, and I've use this player with the same set of batteries for over 1 month. Panasonic rules in the electronics area...
I second that; great battery, and excellent sound far outweight the lack of ID3 tags (I do believe the player does support folder +/-, so you can always group songs by album number by putting the songs in its respective album folder when burning your CD-R's). I use mine mostly in the car, for the long trips.
For the gym, I either take my Sony Clie, or my Minidisc player. I also recently got an Ipaq 1910 so I could play some emulation gaming, but as a music player it does not have a HOLD button, so it's a pain to carry around while working out.
When I jog outdoor during sunny days, I prefer using my TOSHIBA MEA220 Mp3 player (uses SD memory cards); I do believe it is by far one of the smallest mp3 players (also supports AAC), and also one of the lightest.
Seriously though, this Panasonic mp3/CD player is great for most everyday conditions, and I highly recommend it (especially at this price). Keep in my a bland 700MB CD-R cost below 20 cents (in bulk packages), while a 256MB SD card will run you over 60 dollars. So if size is not your absolute priority, consider this instead (I still prefer a solid state mp3 player for jogging, but for working out, no problem with a mechanical player - have I already mentioned minidiscs? ).
