Warm: Playstation 1 5" LCD screen, $99ish at Target

5" LCD unit, plugs directly into the back of the PSOne. Saw it at two Targets
(one in NM, one in FL) for under $99. On clearance, so maybe it'll drop even
more (I got one at Best Buy for $50 earlier this year).

I have one of these (add a $50 Apex dvd player and a power inverter and you have el cheapo
DVD setup in your car) and the screen is fairly nice. Speakers barely work (just don't get very
loud), but with headphones you should be set.
You can use an RCA->headphones style jack to use as input on this.

The Natick, MA Circuit City had three of these left last night, marked down to $70 on the shelf tag. Does Target pricematch?

i don't think target will price match a clearance item, but you never know. if you can still get the lcd at CC, you should get it there. it's been on clearance for a while and most stores are sold out.

No this is a Sony Product and this price is not hot or warm. I got a psone/LCD combo a while back for $99 at KB

No, it's definitely a good price. Normally they are $129, and the combo pack is $149. It is pretty rare when a price deviates from these two price points. Finding the combo pack for $99 is a great find - you'd be hard pressed to find a set for that price again.

Yes, it can. You'll just need the output of the gamecube (plug your 'cube into one of
those many to one RCA adapters, where you can switch inputs if you say have 5 consoles
and only one tv), then plug the output of that into the screen. You'll need one of the

The $69.96 Circuit City deal was certainly the cheapest around. It was nearly impossible to find one for less than $129.99 (MSRP)... I've certainly kept my eyes open. When did KB Toys have their $99 combo deal? I bought a PSone to go with the monitor and together they total more than that. Anyway, this does make an awesome RGB monitor when modded. Also, the mini AV input jack is proprietary, even though it takes an identical four-pole connector. You have to figure out the proprietary wiring through trial and error. I have tested normal AV-to-mini AV connections and they do not work. What strangely DOES work is a three-pole stereo headphone-to-AV converter. The video connects to one jack and you get mono audio out of the other. I'm sure the video pole is bridging with one of the audio poles or something but it appears to work fine anyway

If you need some cables to splice and experiment with, check Best Buy. If they have any of the official Sony AV Connection Cables left, they should still ring up for a penny.


Oh, and Target DOES continually discount their clearance items further. Keep checking back!

I just saw one in Fayetteville, GA that was opened for $64.50. Also new.

Is this a trend? If so, why are there so many opened units? Is there some specific model or revision people are looking for to perform modifications? I plan to get one for a project requiring RGB input if it's still there when Target cuts the price again (All clearance items get progressively cheaper until they are gone).

BY FAR the Sony. Especially if you can get it for $32.50 like that other guy. If it's not already that price or less at your local Target, be wary because somone may snap them all up at the higher price while you're waiting for the price-drop.

The Sony monitor supports RGB input from the PSX and is the ONLY PSone LCD available which does so. That's the absolute highest-quality output you can get from a PSone (Compare to 480p component video on a DTV). Too bad the resolution is lower than some PSone games (Making some text hard to read with missing pixels).

Picked the last 3 at tri county in Cincinnati for 64.50/ea
tried to talk the manager down since I was helping them out by buying them
but it didn't work. he said each target sets there own discount and they will not PM other targets that had it for $30+

To those of you in Louisville, this deal my still be alive. The circuit city off Outer Loop has this lcd on sale (clearance?) for 49.96, and as of today had plenty left. So here is what I did. I went to Sears, who has it for 129.99, and pricematched to CC. 49.96 - 8.00 price match guarantee= 42.00 plus tax out the door. Deal can be made hotter if you can find Sears coupons.

I'm not sure exactly where as I don't live on that end of town. I just looked them up in the phonebook and called them, it said "Outer Loop Superstore" in white pages. Guy on the phone told me they had a ton left. I just went straight to sears.
