Being refurb, and about 50/50 reviews, dunno how good this be, but under a hundred always gets my attention.

Resellers ratings in the mid to high 7's; not too bad. Also, it is an "Office Depot" company; which could be good or bad. eOpinions gives them 4 out of 5 rating. All in all, not a bad find I guess. Anyone have a personal experience to share about this camera specifically?

FWIW, I ordered one of these cameras 4 days before the free shipping was added to the deal. I called up Computers 4Sure and without a hassle they credited my card back the shipping. Now I need to find a deal on an SD memory stick so I can take more pix!
UPS shows the camera being delivered tomorrow, so I'll post a short review after I put it to the test.

Got the camera today, C4S packaging could have been better. If this package would have been dropped, I would have ended up with junk. The cam comes with a soft case, lens cap, usb cable, video cable, ACDSee software, and one huge manual. Also enclosed was a 6 month Boomerang account which is a sticker you attach to the camera for free lost & found services. I registered the cam on the Toshiba site & still there was no mention any $20 extended warranty available.

The cam takes some pretty nice pix. I have been snapping away in my house and garden at 1600x1200 which allows 10 pix with the internal memory. The large pix are vibrant & just slighlty fuzzy, but when I resample down to 800x600 and click sharpen in Irfanview, they are crisp and detailed. The lcd display is bright as I would ever need, and easily viewable in daylight unlike some online reviews have mentioned. Several things I do not like are:

1) The button to take pics is a 2 step process. Press it gently to autofocus and press it hard to take a pic.

2) There was no power supply or batteries included with mine. There was a small paper in my box that does say "batteries not included", and the 30day refurb parts and labor warranty card says the camera may be missing parts and accessories.

3) Get some good rechargeable batteries. This looks like a perfect item to put my NiMH cells and charger to the test with. The brand new Duracell alkalines I installed have lasted for roughly 60 pictures and they are close to dead already.

4) I *have* to find a deal on a 256mb SD card. While the camera does fine with it's internal 8mb for starters, I found out quickly that running back and forth from the garden to the desktop was a PITA.

Overall this is a really decent cam for an individual taking pics of family or for ebay, but pros will have to look elsewhere (and spend alot more cash). The power supply would have been a nice inclusion, but it doesn't charge the batteries so I guess I will survive without it. I have not tried all the modes and I am still playing with it, but wanted to post for others. HTH
