IMHO, this is the best PDA on the market; its only weakness is the lack of support for 802.11b wifi, and the lack of voice recording. Both of these issues have been addressed with the new NX70V which will be coming out next month (but expect to pay about $600 for one).

Also, given the fact that these are refurbished units, I would hope that Sony took the opportunity to rectify the problems with the memory stick slot found in earlier "new" batches

I already have a NR70U, otherwise, I would be all over this deal! Now someone, convince me to sell my "U" and get the "V"! Don't really need the camera, but it's nice to have it around when "needed".

it's already been discontinued in japan anyway. probably here very soon. sony clies have a notoriously short product lifespan, sony just keeps pumping out new models.

What is the difference between NR70V and Toshiba E740? which already has 802.11b wifi, and not to mention can be had for around $250 (brand stinky NEW) ???

the sony is running palmOS and the e740 is running pocket pc

Best price I've seen on the E740 is $349, using 2 rebates for a total of $150 from amazon.com. Haven't seen any better deals on brand-stinky new E740's...

Sorry, don't mean to thread-crap. The new model with ARM 200 MHz and OS5 is due out in a month or so, in which case they will be clearing out these bad-boys shortly. In a month or so you can probably get these cheaper, and new.
