Do you think it ever was sold at $79.99? Still, dunno why but SVC is totally clearing out Coolermaster stuff. They've been selling the Aerogate fan controller for $5. Don't necessarily mean anything bad, though, perhaps just a stock buyout of a discontinued product. SVC occasionally has super killer deals like that. I remember back when 60x60x25mm 7000RPM fans were the rage, SVC was selling them 10/$10. I picked up a few Arctic Cooling 4TC HSFs for $5 each more recently.

Even without being there I suspect I know what happened in that review. Dude was already complaining about having to remove the stock AMD retension (standard procedure with any number of aftermarket coolers such as Zalman). So he gets the retension installed and installs the heatsink. Says he had a difficult time installing heatsink. I think one of two things happened - 1) there was a manufacturing/design defect or 2) dude installed it wrong. In one of those pics that shows the metal arm which holds the heatsink in being bent from the force, looks like the heatsink is sitting on the edge of the retension, meaning it isn't sitting flush with the CPU and indeed is raised above it, resulting in the extra force needed to install the metal clips and the horrible performance. You really can't get that bad a performance unless your heatsink wasn't making full contact. Or... those two fans that were supposed to be push-pull were installed push-push or pull-pull.

they do not look no where near red as advertised. I bought the duallight kit, sata/ide eletric wires. They seem more pink than red and look NOTHING like the picture they have. Now the LED coolermaster fans arent bad and light up to a pretty dark red.

They may be an awesome e-tailer. But the people that run the show are bastards....except for the techincal guy (co-owner) in charge....he's cool. The owner is an asshole. I make these comments because I use to work for them so I know first hand.

SVC has some really good deals. I use to buy quite a few things from them until the last time I tried to RMA something (memory card reader). I was left with a bad taste in my mouth with extremely poor customer service. I also picked up 2 bad fan controllers from them.

On the other hand, i've picked up quite a few good fans from them at unbeatable prices.

For the owners, they treat workers like shatte.

Their mentality is this: Labor is a dime a dozen. You are easily replaceable.

Why do you think they keep having a "for hire" link on their site? Employee turnover rates are so high. If they have any business experience, you know that it's best to keep loyal workers to keep costs down. If you keep having turnover rates, you will have to continualy train new workers you waste time and efficiency.

Last thing I want to point out is this:

The owner needs to take a class called "Professional Business Ethics."

Another horror story and incompetence about these people.

Placed an order with ground shipping hoping it would be shipped the next day and would be just in time for my liking. Never happened so I called them two days after and had it upgraded to a faster shipping with the extra charges charged to my CC. Invoice was alterred to reflect all changes. Item shipped the following day but with ground service. Called them up immediately and asked what happened and the girl CSR told me that I never got charged for the upgrade. Then I told her that the invoice shows otherwise and she acknowledge it and put me on hold. When she came online again, she told me that it was now showing as ground. The ho altered it. Soi I said fine, as long as I didn't get charged extra. Got home and checked with CCCo if I was charged and sure did I was charged. Called them up again and she's lucky she didn't answer the phone or I would have been all over her. The guy that answered was apologetic and cool so I just let it go with a promise of reverse charges.

I picked up 10 of those red coolermaster 80mm fans for $1.39 and I can report that they work quite well and aren't even very loud.

We are talking about eligible workers here in the states correct? So you can't compare them to third wolrd labor markets unless they are outsourcing. In the end you waste more time and money having to constantly retrain new workers. I rather keep dedicated workers and treat them well rather than getting fresh fish every couple of months.
