Cold, you can get a decent 2.1MP digicam for less than that. I had the p30 btw, image quality wasn't that good. But then again, have you ever seen a 1.3MP digicam that took good quality pictures?

I own this cam. Scored it for the same price shipped at Staples. The MP quality is not noticeable unless you are printing the pictures. I don't print them, so the pics are great for viewing on the web.

i am sure you can get a non-sony 2.1mp digicam for under $200.

in fact, i have two sony digicams, 1.3mp and 3.3mp. the quality is just the same if you print 4x6s. i mostly use 1280x1024 res pics, because the file sizes are much smaller. btw, i am very happy with my 1.3mp sony.

Unless you want to give it as a gift, I would stay away from 1.3MB Digicams. For a decent looking 4X6 picture I suggest get 2.1MB which costs 399.

Yep, my Olympus D-360L takes great pictures for web use and 4x6 printouts. No optical zoom, though. I'm waiting for the Canon Powershot A20 to come down in price before I upgrade--2.1MP, 3x optical zoom in a camera the size of a credit card.

With 3x optical zoom? If so, which one and where?
I have an Olympus D-510 Zoom 2.1MP, I replaced my old Olympus D-460 Zoom 1.3MP. I never print my photos as I keep my photo album on the computer. Personally, I think the 1.3MP camera's picture quality was just as good. In fact, I liked it better because it stayed in 1280x960 mode while my 2.1MP camera defaults to 1600x1200 res every time I turn it on. I don't imagine myself ever having a NEED for more than 1.3MP.

This Sony sounds like a pretty good deal for a 3x optical zoom camera.
I'd gladly give up more megapixels to get more optical zoom.
