not bad at all for $67, these are good enough for most people, although closed ear kinda sucks, your ears will get a lot hotter and you won't be able to hear people talk hardly

Closed is mainly for noise, not noise cancelling. People usually won't be able to hear what your listening to, but yes, you can hear other ppl, but its kinda muffled.

Thanks. How does this one compare to the Sennheiser HD490? I was thinking of getting those. Yea, again those are open air, but what about sound quality wise?

Good find, I have some old school ones from maybe 10yrs ago, but the pads are worn out, plus I broke the jack off, and when I put a new one on the channels were crossed. These headphones kick ass.

From what *I* heard, the hd490s are inferior to the mdr-v6s.
But the hd-495s can compete with them and can be had for $60 at headphone.com. And from what *I* heard, the hd-495s need to be driven with adequate power, otherwise, you'll need an amplifier.

And i think the 495s look nicer

Has anybody ordered and received their headphones yet? I am anxious to hear opinions about them...especially how they compare to the Grado SR-60's (if such comparisons can be made).

I HAVE these headphones but hadn't ordered from etronics.

Grados are mostly superior to these except for bass, which the Sony has. This is mostly because grados are open headphones and sonys are closed. Opens leak sound but usually give you good mids and highs. Closed keep some sound in, but give you superior bass to most opens.

Try forums like Head-fi where there are many many threads on headphone comparisons.

okay, this deal is too sweet to pass up. such a nice price. no tax either. just ordered a pair for myself to replace my mdr-v600, which replaced my original mdr-v6. so, back to my original stuff. will give my v600 to my niece.

Just ordered me a pair of these badboys, along with a pair of velour pads from Beyer Dynamics. This will be my first pair of closed phones, so I am really excited. I almost went for some Sennheisers, but this deal is too good to pass up!

Now maybe my wife won't complain about me having the HT cranked all the time...

I did the same thing davemeister. They gave me $5 store credit. Not bad, but I probably wont use it any time soon if at all. See if you can muscle an actual pricematch out of them and let me know if it works.

got my reply back about the pricematch attempt. I also got the $5 store credit thing. I need to call them up and change it to a CC credit, since their store is in NY and I live in CA. not gonna fly across the country to use a $5 in-store credit. sheesh. might order a second v6 and some of those beyer earpad things too. also have to check their prices on camcorder batteries.

fatbaby - you might want to edit your thread title to reflect current $54.99 price. moves from warm to hot.

I received mine--packaged well. These speakers provide good bass. I like the fact that these headphones are "closed."

You guys may want to check out the beyer 250 ear pad replacments. cost $23 but it has more ear room and like 3x the padding - this is almost a requierment if you wear glasses.

do not be fooled, these are $100 headphones - because you need to get padding replacments =(

I have been on the beyer website, but I dont see where you can order the pads. Also, how do you attach the new pads and unattach the old ones?

i know this is really random, but I just went to the bose store in my area and tried out their $300 noise cancelling headphones. Those were the most amazing headphones I have ever heard.... these compare in any way?

kinda?

i'm gona follow Davemeister's lead and ask for a credit as mine arrived today.

Incredible bass! I've never imagined headphones producing this much bass lol, and its not overboard either, I would say tight and controlled bass. And of course great clarity. Can't beat it at this price.
