It's very unusual to see $379 item ranks #3 in Amazon.com top sales...must be popular.

I ordered a 4400 and with tax and crap it came to $256. So if I ordered the 4600 from gateway it would've been $389-$50 x CA 7.5% tax = $365 with free shipping. Amazon $379 free shipping (over $99) and no tax in CA. So if you anyone of you got SCREW UP the butt by Gateway and can afford an extra $14 ($379-$365) then do it.
why is it #3 ...I think it's rated every hour the list is updated (top sellers that is)

Gateway cancelled my order and I was among the first to order from them. since I live in Los Angeles County with tax I would have paid about 371 and some change. for 8 dollars more I am getting it from amazon.com and I can trust them. thanks for the heads up on this one.

you can't post codes man....anyway I found that $5 off coupon elsewhere on the net. I just ordered one total was $374.99 with free shipping. The way I justified it was I was looking at Powerr Director 2.0 which the 4600 comes with and figured the retail value is $80 right there. I'm sure it'll be better than Ulead Video Studio 5.0 which I currently have that came with my firewire card. I was tempted to sign up for the Amazon Credit Account so I wouldn't have to pay for 90 days but what the hell. No eating food for me next month. Screw gateway, long live Amazon and no tax on the web! This is $110 more than the $265 I was gonna pay for the ti4400 from gateway but oh well. Life sucks.

(sigh) I *might* just do this. I stand to get a GOOD amount of money from eBay auctions soon and they'd just about cover this horrifically overpriced piece of silicon...wait. Wait - on second thought, screw it - I've got a GF3, hell, TWO GF3s (one Ti200) with a Chrome Orb and soon-to-be-installed (tomorrow) Tin Plated RAMSinks that works without a hitch on my system NOW.

Enjoy your GF4s - I'll just sink the 500 bucks or so I plan on getting into a savings account and not touch it for another year (woo, a whole 15 bucks!!!) - when I expect to get a ClawHammer DP system - by then graphics cards should be packing 256MB of something OTHER than DDR (QDR or DDR-II) on an AGP 8X bus with 2GB or more of whatever is the std. RAM speed then.

I wish you bleeding edgers luck with your new cards - I'm still gonna see if I can't choke a Ti4400 out of Gateway through sheer harassment over the next two months, though.

Goodluck with gateway. I have talked to them and they have no plans on letting me get in on a deal for the geforce 4 even though I know that some stores already have them. I even told them that amazon has the card for delivery. they said sorry go to amazon. Darn right I will and they can go jump. Gateway has had their problems which is where necxdirect came about. Obviously they still suck.... their stock is down to nothing and I feel sorry for those that will be losing their jobs when they finally fold. Amazon has always come through and their customer service is much better. they try to accomodate everyone in a reasonable fashion. Your correct that dell is much better than gateway. If I was not going to build my own systems than I would order from them. OK OK now I am whining to much even for me.
