They're Dell OEM cds??
DELL CDs will only install on DELL systems without activation and CD key. Attempt to install on any none DELL system will trigger the activation code.
MrBLUNT is correct. And yes, I have also tried it. You can just pop one of these CDs into a semi-recent Dell (since XP came out) and you won't be prompted to enter a key or have to activate it. Install it on a non-Dell system and it installs just like a regular OEM copy of WinXP: you'll have to activate it and get prompted to enter a key. Of course WGA is new and you'll have to validate WinXP again or use a workaround.Originally posted by: MrBLUNT

True if installed on a Non Dell unit it will work but you MUST HAVE THE COA... No coa = usless cd. The nice part if you do have a dell unit it wont ask for COA code and will validate the WGA check without ever typing in anything.

Because buying a CD in a way that M$ does not make money is just like getting a pirate copy regardless if the CD is made by M$ or not. If it isn't legal to use it, why bother buying it and use it while you could download it from some p2p sites ?
We don't care M$. We care for our own asses.. oops assets.
