Where are you finding the $10 instant rebate? I did find the $30 MIR on the OD site (expires 2/2/02), but I don't know how to make a link without a security ID.

http://www.coupon-codes.net/ is showing a couple of $20 off $75 coupons that would make this deal a little better.

My parents have this monitor, and while it is OK at 1024X768, this is definitely on the low end of 17" monitors. Still, for $90 delivered, if that does pan out, it is a good buy. For reference, the Samsung flat-screen 17" monitor is much nicer, I think. That shows up in the periodic Dell hot deals for $90 to $120.

I guess it's only for B&M so if someone can confirm this (I don't have time atm), then I will change the topic... It could also be local, although I really doubt it. I saw this deal in a flyer (minus the coupon part) at my local OD today when I went to get my $20 memory

Not quite instant. If you put into your cart, it will show 149.99 without the instant 10. If you choose pickup at store, it will show up at 139.99, but will be on back order. Strange isn't it. Still trying to figure it out myself.

Well, I have a hard time believing that it's 1) B&M only and 2) local; this is because the flyer that this is written on gives all three types of shopping options: phone, website, and local store.

Don't know what to say really, the IR *should* work.

I did this deal last October and already got the rebate, I think I paid around $30 total. This weekend the monitor started smoking and ceased to work. I called KDS and they are going to send me a new monitor in 3 days and supply return postage for the old monitor (no cost to me). The visual quality of the monitor was pretty good and I am impressed w/ their level of service, although I would have preferred the monitor not to have blown up!

Believe it or not, it's In Store only as the online CSR does not know about it and only see the 149. Talked to 3 CSR and the final one told me to call back when the item is received and asking for the 10 difference.

Funny thing is it will show up as 139 when you sign in and request it to be pickup, but as stated before, it will automatically go out of stock on me. Called the local store and they have tons in stock. Apparently they have some inventory problem online. I live only 2 block from one so picking it up for me is not a problem.

So far, 149.99 - 20 - $30 rebate = 99.99 plus tax, still not bad...If I get the 10, it would be 89.99 plus tax...

I dunno if I'm just unlucky, but i've had nothing but problems with this monitor. I don't mean to flame, but I ordered this monitor when it was going for 59.99 in october (found here on hotdeals )... after 3 weeks, the screen shrunk down to about 2 inches tall. they replaced it no problem and covered shipping both ways. a week before christmas, it went out again. got the replacement, again they covered shipping both ways, and just a few days ago it started smoking and smelled like burnt plastic. Called them back and they said they're going to ship me a new VS-7XP instead of the VS-77. I guess we'll see how that goes.

This is a good deal, I talk to the CSR and he told me to call back after I had received the monitor to get the $10 instant rebate deducted from my order.
If you order online, there is no $10 instante rebate, but that can be fixed.
So the deal goes

I also got in on this monitor when it was $59.99. First one delivered was real nice with a small footprint (short depth and very little 'mask' around the front). The whole thing was about the size of my 15" Compaq. However, it had a big crack in the case, so I called up and they shipped another. CSR gave me another $10 for the inconvenience. The replacement monitor was also a VS-77, but was huge in comparison. Same size as my other 17" monitors, with different front controls. Couldn't complain too much as they promptly sent the additional $10 rebate. Not too shabby for $40....... Anyone else get the smaller version?

Just picked one up at the local OD for 119.99 - 30.00 rebate. The instore price was 139.99 after the instant rebate but they had no problem matching the online price.
