Warning about Lian Li 1200 cases

The case requires special screws to affix the HDD into their toolless bays. The documentation calls for 48 of those screws (more than enough) but only 4 are included. It is true not only in my order, but also in the reseller's wearhoused boxes and in the Distributor's wearhouse boxes.

Perhaps these flat-headed screws with a ridge can be obtained elsewhere, but I do not know where. I am planning to have some sent to me from various sources, but they are doing me a big favor and that should not be required.

Any advice?

My V1100 came with more than enough screws... I've already used enough for my four hard drives and have enough left for at least another pair of drives later... I think your bag was just filled either on a Monday morning or Friday afternoon...

Yeah, I got enough screws for 20 cases with my 75b. I'm sure someone in the chain will make it right for the OP given a chance.

I sent a note to Lian Li and will await their response.

No, it was not just an error for my case.
I checked with Performance-PC who opened another box and it was the same.
I also contacted another distributer in California, JCL (Silver PC.Com) and they said they were only getting 4 with the 1200.
Both offered to send me some.

Looks like there is a manufacturing problem. There is no easy way to contact Lian Li directly, but I filled out a form on their website and perhaps they will respond.

Looks like the quality Lian Li was once known for has been declining over the years. I think everybody is noticing it.

Hmmmmm. Every Antec case I've ever worked with ALWAYS had plenty (and then some) mounting hardware. Simply unacceptable for the high dollar LL's.....

So this equates to every Antec case being packed correctly, ALWAYS? Someone needs to think a bit more prior to hitting Reply to Topic button.

Ah heck, you'd think for $200 that they'd remember to put some hardware in there to mount. That's alot of bucks to forget, I wouldn't be impressed. Oh yeah, I'm thinking, and I'm going to hit the reply button now

You're still trying to make the same lame, thoughtless associatiton that you were at first. And that's just plain sad.

No, actually I am thinking quite well, sorry you think it's "sad". It's like buying a car with missing, unstandard lugnuts on the wheels. Should you have to wait a few days to drive it? I'd be ticked off too after paying $200. It's a royal PITA when items are missing, especially proprietary ones, that goes for any manufacturer. I stand by my "sad" thinking....

You still aren't making sense, and the analogy is stupid. I can't wait to see how you try to use the word "stupid" in an effort to look smart.

same here - I think there might have been a slight packing slipup for a day or two - If the OPs case was common, we'd hear people bitching all the time

I like you too, Mucker. In spite of the fact that you're wrong most of the time.

That may be so but only because I learned everything from you........

L-L is dropping in quality. Having had 2 and recently just returned an 1100B. You could tell the difference between my old trusty 75 and the new one. The fit and finish on the 75 is so much better then the one I spent $225.00 on. So much that I took it back and after looking at 3 others in the store they all had problems in one area or another.
You spend that much money on a case you expect it to be right.

I was missing one standoff for my one SLK3700AMB, and the plastic clips that held the front panel on at the top were snapped off, even though the shipping case was undamaged. Fortunately, I had spare parts available, and Plastic Welder was able to secure the clips back in place. Oh yeah, the power switch was shorted out on the second SLK3700AMB I bought.
Minor QC issues there too.

Curious to know why you took back the 1100B? Also check out my site for some pics and info on L-L problems.

I can see that I started something with this original post.

I checked with the dealer who sold it to me, another distributer, and even wrote to Lian Li. Evidently, this is a widespread problem. The case is nice, but the documentation sucks, the screws were missing, and except for the very excellent support of Performance-PC, I would have had a non-workable case. The HDD Fixed screws are specialized to fit their quick-release hard disk bays. I am struggling though the assembly because of the lack of documentation. I had a nice response from JCL who had a scarcity of these screws but they agreed to sell some to me at a very modest price. They truly made no money on the transaction, but just tried to help. Lian Li has not responded and their web site is archaic and unhelpful.

If I were to buy a new case again, it would not be from Lian Li. So, buyer beware.
