Just to be on the safe side I called up Chase. I told them the story and that EMS says they're moving but I didn't know what to think. They're moving...they're gunna take the money and run...they're gunna file bankruptcy...???. I told them I just wanted to touch base with them just in case and they suggested that I contest the charges right now, and if EMS does follow thru with a timely refund they'll halt the charge contesting. But this way I'm covered no matter what happens. It only took a couple of minutes and I now have peace of mind.

I still think EMS is a scumbag outfit that intentionally scammed us and used our money for an interest-free loan. :|

I do agree that "oops" are fine for companies. But I only adhere to this if the company owns up to there mistake. All they had to do was say we made a mistake and we will be canceling your order. I would of been fine with that but, the fact that they lied straight to my face. That bugs me. If any store is willing to lie to me I don't want to spend money there. "We have received your recent order; however, we will be unable to ship your product(s) in a timely manner. As a result, we have cancelled your order." But, they show my case being in stock ready to ship within a day or 2. Only thing is that they have jacked the price of the case by nearly $30 not counting the shipping. This combined with the charge you to get a short term loan is unexcusable. EMS will never see me purchase anything from them unless they have huge fundamental changes in the way they treat there customers.

THEY SHIPPED! HOLY CRAP THEY ACTUALLY SHIPPED! :Q

OK, I went through everything everyone else here did, even got the cancellation email from them, but low and behold, I get an email today saying my order has shipped. Even has a UPS tracking number.

Anyone else get their order shipped?

Truth of the matter is, I ordered the Samsung 955df. NOBODY had even close to as good a price as them. Plus free shipping! So when I got the cancellation letter, I was pretty bummed. I need a new monitor badly, and I wanted it at their price.

So I sent them this email:

In regards to order #020730-951529:
Looks like you're having a tough time, however, I AM still interested in
completing this transaction with you. I understand that with the moving,
and being swamped with orders from your promotion, that sometimes it's best
to cancel orders, refund money, and pray you land on your feet. BUT, if you
can do it, I'm still interested. I'd be willing to wait for shipment. As
long as you're honest with me.
Please advise

So anyway, I don't know if anyone elses stuff shipped too, but anyone who wants to get the deals on the products they were offering last week might take this approach. That is, if you're all not too pissed, which would be understandable.

Hmmm. I wonder if they'll disregard all the foul language I used in my multiple e-mails to them and ship me my case. Oh well, I already contested the charges anyways...and ordered a case from Newegg instead. Congrats for getting your monitor...that's great, ya suckass!

Heh, I guess you do catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

I sent a brief, polite request to EMS, requesting the return of my $111. No response (of course).

I encourage everyone to contest the charges with their credit card companies. The banks don't like these hassles, and might even raise their handling charges for EMS (I guess, maybe).

When I first ordered my 19" Sony monitor there was no place for a credit card. So I waited until they reopened their store and contacted a great customer service rep over email, gave my Credit Card info to them over the phone and everything is now perfect. Will receive my Sony 19" this Thursday and I couldn't be happier. Great Work EMS. Will buy from you again!!!!

It took EMS 7 days to refund my money but they did it, finally. Of course they shouldn't have ever even charged me since the order never shipped. I had already put the charge in dispute so I don't know if that had anything to do with the refund. I had also sent them a nasty e-mail. I don't care to be polite when it comes to my hard earned money.

I will NEVER buy from EMS again. Why should I when there are plenty of reputable and consistently reliable companies out there? What EMS saved in shipping costs by cancelling our orders they will surely lose many times over in the long run.

I haven't gotten my refund yet....... ordered on 7/29 charged on 7/31.... i'm pretty ticked about it...
but my bank says I have to wait another week and then I can go file an affidavit at the main bank office....

I just got my charge reversed, too, finally. It'll still be a long while before I buy from EMS again, but at least they finally did the right thing (at least with me.)

I'm in the same boat as you. I ordered a day before you and as of today I still haven't got refunded. After getting no response from several emails and their phone system doesn't allow you to actually speak to anyone, I finally called the CEO directly this afternoon. His actual number was posted in the other ems thread, I called him up and he said it will be taken care of. Shortly later I got an email from their credit dept saying ive been credited. My statement doesn't show it yet but from what I understand it takes 24-72 hours to show up so we'll see, I don't trust them until my money is credited....

On another note, I'd suggest anyone who still hasn't got their refund call the CEO directly. When I told him I hadn't been credited he seemed SURPRISED as if this whole ordeal was done with. Apparently not.....

Waddya know, EMS finally emailed and claims to have issued a refund (9.7.02 - six weeks after they charged my credit card). (It still has not shown up in my account) I, of course, advised them that their six-weeks-late refund was not really appreciated and that they should be sending more than weak tit form apologies.

Sorry to re-animate this dead horse thread, but I thought it was kind of funny that it took them 6 weeks to get their a**-hat on straight.

I have ordered from EMS Computing before. I am convinced that there is no organic life force behind this company. I ordered the new Sony Clie (NR-70V) + the new Canon S9000 printer. I got everything as ordered in excellent condition. It seemed to run on auto-pilot. I was never able to get in touch with a single human after I placed my order. I was holding my breath there. Luckily, it all worked out, and I am pleased. Will I order again?. Possibly. . . It would be a lot re-assuring if it was possible to speak with an actual human.
