I did get my money back from a company that went bankrupt. Remember MVP.com? Right before they closed shop, they had a great sale on golf equipment. After they declared bankruptcy, they did ship my order, but the wrong clubs. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and they got me my money back. So don't lose hope yet.

I ordered an Antec SX830 on 07/29/02 for $59.00 free with shipping
Received confirm e-mail 07/29/02 from EMS
Visa charged 07/30/02 by EMS
Have had no other communication with EMS to date and NO CASE
EMS web site today has Antec SX830 for $80.49 + $19.14 shipping
For what it is worth - 07/31/02 683 SX830 cases in stock; noon 1pm today SX830 621 cases in stock (maybe suppliers stock)
I went into this deal knowing about EMS reseller rating

Yeah, I was charged on the 30th as well along with many others... A quick grab and flee to Mexico?

CadetLee, when I called, they were "moving to new facilities", which hopefully doesn't mean out of the country...so I'm not sure who'd be left at the address they give on the website.

I ordered my z560's and got it fast! Ordered on the 26th got it on the 31st of July. Most of you guys will probably get your stuff soon today or tomorrow. I got my confirmation on the day I got my package. A little slow but it's allright.

You guys should have ordered it right when they had the free shipping.

Finally!! Good to see someone got their stuff. Hopefully this all is due to the anantech effect and we'll get our stuff before we're eligible for socsecurity.

I had a really bad experience with EMS before... almost a week and a half of NO communication!! That's why I had to cancel on my order.... luckily no charges.

Same here. I called citibank, and was told I can dispute the charges, regardless of bankruptcy.

Yeh right. Go tell that to the people who lost thousands with CyberRebate when they went bankrupt! :disgust: Both Citibank and American Express assured cardholders publically that they were 100% covered for any liability from the bankruptcy and even issed initial credits, but once both companies reralized the amount of their pending liability, they reversed credits and the cardholders were left out in the cold! The FCBA ( Fair Credit Blling Act) does not cover bankruptcies and you are basically left at the mercy of the bankruptcy courts to get your money or merchandise. Good Luck!

YHPM. Please do, and if you go in the middle of the day and you find the doors locked and the lights out, I'm jumping on the phone to my VISA account.

I just ordered a Sony CPD-G410r 19" monitor for 314$ and free shipping. I have ordered a Antec SX830 case about 6months ago and received it with no problems. Luckily there was no place for me to pay with the credit card only :Check,Money Order so they won't get my money until I talk to someone, not these auto response messages. I will wait and see what happens with you guys and then decide if I can or want to even pay by credit card like they said I could in my "order confirmation email". I am in no big hurry so as long as I can get one for 314$ sometime in the next 30 days I am a happy camper. Looks like all there prices went up today. The same monitor went up 125$. ?????

Good News I just got my order placed on Monday the 12th of August. Item will arrive on Thursday the 15th. Just had to wait for their move to finish. Will buy again from them after all the good returned emails. That Sony 19" is a steal at 314$ shipped.

Obviously credit card companies do NOT protect you from defunct rebates. This EMS thing is a different situation.

I wouldn't wait to find out if they went Bankrupt...

If you haven't received your merchandise or haven't heard from them in over a week. Call up Visa and tell them you would like your money back, because the merchant has made it impossible to communicate with them and your merchandise hasn't been shipped or delivered.

Sounds like a plan. I am thinking of it too. If we don't see a post here in the next couple of days about something positive with these orders, I can't think of any other option.

Hmm... obviously you did not follow the conclusion of that fiasco. I was specifically referring to those who ordered and never received their merchandise before CyberRebate when bankrupt. Both Citibank and American Express shafted thousands of customers after publically stating they would support them . The LI US district court still has not set a date for the pending class action against Citibank and AMEX. In the meantime, their card holders, or former card holders, are left out in the cold! Bottom line is that FCBA does not cover bankruptcies and when it comes fown to taking a loss, CC companies will do eveny thing theny can legally to avoid taking a loss. Thinking your CC company is going out of their way to protect you is simply delusional thinking.

For those that lost money due to unpaid rebates from CybeRrebate, then they got a well deserved lesson in greed and I have no sympathy for them.

Patience young padawans, it's probably the ATE. I ordered on the 26th. Many of you ordered much later like the 29th 30th, when the free shipping was on for a while. So they must be getting a flood of orders. It took 5 days for me to get my item, pretty fast, but you haven't even waited 5 days. So patience. My shipping confirmation came in my email the day I got it.

I ordered 3 antec cases from EMS computing 3 weeks ago and got all 3 of the cases within a week shipped fedex ground. I did see someone at fedex who said that they had been waiting almost a month to get their case. I think that they always say that they have things in stock but only ship out when they accually recieve their stocking shipments. I will be careful about ordering form them again after hearing everyones concerns though.

CadetLee:

Yes, please go by the physical business and smack them around. Update us with what you find out. I ordered an Antec case on 7/31. I understand that it was only a couple of days ago so I'll be patient. I am a bit worried though. :disgust:

I have ordered from EMS in the past with no problems and some of their shipping is from the midwest, however I have been watching a Cannon S520 printer on their site for $104.00 + $12.00 shipping. Now the darn thing with free shipping is $125.49 !!

Just what was that WC Fields QUOTE?

Alright, I just came back from there. I had a hell of a time finding the place because the block of office suites it was in is numbered differently than their site (3620 vs. 3600). After asking around I found the place, and as I walked in a big U-Haul truck was backing in front of it. When I walked in, there were no signs, the place was small and bare, and maybe 10 people (probably college students) were in the place packing up boxes. I stopped a girl and asked her if this was EMS Computing. She said "sort of, we're moving". My first impression was that this was some sort of fly-by-night operation. I told her that I ordered an item from their site last weekend, my card was charged, and I didn't get the package or tracking number or anything. Then she kind of disappeared into the back and to my surprise I saw one of my good friends from back in high school. I greeted him and after briefly chatting I asked him what was going on. He told he started working a couple weeks ago, but they were moving into another office, and their computers were down all week. I told him I knew some other people who were charged and didn't get any shipping notice. He said that EMS would be up and shipping next week. They also drop ship from different warehouses across the country. I'm inclined to believe him since I know he's a trustworthy guy, but since he's been working not too long I don't know if he knows everything. I think I will wait and see if the shipping notice comes next week, if not I'll file a dispute with my credit card company.

EDIT: he also mentioned that EMS is re-designing their site and will have it up, maybe Monday or so.

So my guess is that they just wound up getting swamped. My guess is that all these 7/29 orders will ship next week. Guess ya gotta wait for the free shipping.
