Hi, this is Rob, long time reader first time poster.
I too jumped on the 955df bandwagon and ordered late sunday night. Got the standard order confirmation reply, then a reply telling me they were out of stock (I ordered the black one). This is the last I've heard from them. I tried calling and got the recording about relocating their facilities. So I've tried emailing them, twice, and this morning received "undeliverable mail, user mailbox exceeds allowable size" replies to both of them.
Has anyone gotten a REAL reply to email?
I'm trying hard to keep faith in this company, but am growing impatient.

On the plus side, I'm one of the lucky ones who's credit card has NOT been charged yet. I'm assuming it's because the black monitor was out of stock.

Same situation I'm in.. except I've emailed them 7 times, called them numerous times, called their other Solutions branch, faxed them, and called the better business bureou.. I don't think anyone is getting anything soon.

EMS Computing showcases unique brand-name products at a discount price. We guarantee 100% satisfaction on all products with full manufacturer's warranties, and 0% Satisfaction on our service. EMS Computing Customer Representatives will be happy to answer your questions and concerns when hell freezes over, Just contact us. Once you have placed an order, sit back, relax, grow old waiting, and watch your money disappear. We will carefully pack your order(onto the back of our trucks bound for mexico), then ship it to any address in the United States via Carrier Pigeon. It is that simple and convenient.

I'm in the same boat as the rest of you.... ordered a samsung 955df last sunday.. no shipping confirmation or anything... I will wait a few more days... as the deal is worth the wait if they come thru on it.

the thing that puzzles me is why a company would post an offer that is sure to get them a huge sales boost, at the same time as they are moving to another location? if they plan on staying in business they certainly alienated alot of customers(new and old)

on their contact page, they list two phone numbers:

352-374-8400
FAX 352-374-4002

has anyone tried contacting them recently?

In the unlikely event your credit card was charged, a full refund will be
posted to your account within 3-5 business days. We sincerely apologize
for any inconvienience this may have caused you, and hope we may be able to
better serve you in the futue.

Yep, I just got the same email. I had 2 orders and the email failed to state which order was cancelled. What a bunch of geniuses over there....

Got the same e-mail about 1/2 hour ago. They should get pounded by us so bad that their resellerrating is "0". I am sure I went thru all the same cr*p as the rest of you. Four unanswered e-mails (IMHO an auto-reponse isn't a response at all ).

Just checked the price on the Antec 660B case I orginally ordered for $83.00 and free shipping - now at $109.49 and $18 for shipping.

If this isn't criminal, I don't know what is :disgust:

Time to add a "Never Buy From emscomputing.com" line to my sig

Hahah... funny... More like in the LIKELY event. Too much...

Someone should class-action their ass. This is bullsh*t.

Blatantly went against thier "policy" and charged all cards

Blantant fraud in my mind

Yea this is a bunch of crap. Now all the other deals are over so I'm stuck with this crappy 17in for longer. I sent them a nasty email and also gave them a really bad score at reseller ratings.

I am all for a class action suit...though most of us don't have the time or $$$ to put into it.

But resellerratings, epinions, pricegrabber, bbbonline should all get a message from us...

They have sealed their fate... because they only sell computing products... so that pretty much means that a great deal of potential buyers will see the result of their latest actions, buy reading this forum.. and im sure countless other forums around the web as well as resellerratings, and the other sites devoted to rating online retailers... I will see to it that anyone I know who is in the market to order something online does not go thru them. :disgust:

I got that e-mail too. Every technology company is entitled to an "oops" or two, in my opinion. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not going to order from them unless they offer an unbeatable deal.

I agree. Everybody does make a mistake, don't know if the company deserves to go under because of one flub up. Hopefully they will try to make amends for this later.

I guess I should consider myself lucky. i was going to order a modem from them, figured it would be quick since i live just 90 minutes south of them. I got an e-mail saying the item was out of stock , so I didn't order.

I DID send an e-mail asking a few questions .........and like everyone esle...........never got a response.

I'd say my biggest complaint about the company is, if after the first day of free shipping , they realized they were going to be overwhelmed, they should have NEVER continued the "special free shipping". It was only supposed to be for one day anyhow, right? They should have quit while they were ahead.

Instead, for some unexplained reason, they kept the promotion going, even when they knew they couldn't handle all the orders. Makes me think the people running this company are not too bright. Probably wasn't the best idea to do this during a week when they would be moving to another location, either. Like I said....not very bright.

When i was going to order from them, their reseller rating was in the 7's............................sure has taken a drop since.............yeesh!!

They obviously don't give a shht about their resellerrating or bizrate rating. I look for them to restructure their company and appear under a different name, and we'll be ready for them.

it is indeed a violation of a merchant's Merchant Account agreement to charge a credit card (MC or Visa) before at least preparing the package to ship. The vendor signs a contract with a bank that then signs an agreement with Visa and Mastercard. Both of these contracts explicitly forbid charging a customer prior to shipment.

However, this practice has become commonplace and both VISA/MC and gateway providers like Verisign will not expose a vendor's Merchant Bank - so the consumer's ability to protest this lies mostly with contesting any charges made to the account.

If you were charged and are waiting a refund, I would HIGHLY encourage you to contest the charges AND try your damndest to find out who their Merchant Bank is (by contacting Verisign or whoever handles their CC Authentication). The only sure way to cripple a bad vendor is to prevent them from processing payments. This will likely follow them to whatever attempts they might make to form a new company.

I don't think this was an 'oops' by EMS; they were a semi-shadey vendor some time before this scam. The fact that they borrowed our money cotemporaneous with their "move" is interesting. It would be enlightening to follow the money trail - us anandsuckers paying EMS money from our debit and credit accounts probably enabled EMS to get some additional credit or pay operating expenses in the short term.

I don't think running a "free shipping" ad at the same time a company is moving offices can be called an 'oops.' There's no way they could have handled it. The joke's on us who fell for it.
