I asked MechBgon to look at the website to see if there was anything sinister. This is what he told me:
This is not to say Jokersmoker isn't correct and something is/was there. His PSA announcement should be treated as something to be careful. Jokersmoker has ALWAYS been a respected member here and he is held in high regard around here.

I browsed around on the site using both WinXP and Win7 while monitoring in Microsoft Network Monitor to see what was going on, as well as looking at the pages' source code. I didn't get anything definite. However, there's a domain called linezing.com that seems to generate the cookies, and a quick Google for linezing.com showed that they've had compromises, or are causing them on purpose:
http://www.siteadvisor.com/sit...com/postid/?p=20867633 (scroll down to the comments and ignore SiteAdvisor's automated green rating)
http://safebrowsing.clients.go...-US&site=linezing.com/ (Google Safe Browsing background on linezing.com)
I also had a couple different antivirus products involved, namely AntiVir's free version and the beta Microsoft one, and they didn't trigger any alerts. So this could be a false alarm, or an intermittent compromise, or a smart compromise that avoids attacking browser/OS combos where the attack's not likely to work and would only blow their cover.
