If you're that stupid it might be a better idea if you just took the plunge off the roof instead of the computer. I would like the effect of that much better.

If you don't click a link in an email but instead manually type it in or put it in your favorites you're not going to end up some place you don't want to be such as paypal-inc.com.

Now tell how you could end up at www.paypal-inc.com if you type in www.paypal.com. Smartass. (unless you're redirected by paypal.com)

Some of those email links are huge, I ain't gonna go typing it all out. I think my suggestion of actually taking a few seconds and checking whether the link is authentic and not putting your password in without being sure is a good one.

phishing for paypal accounts now huh? i doubt anandtechers would need the info, but i'm bumping it anyway.

will paypal come up with the "paypal never asks for your personal information, such as your password" on every page now? but then, idiots will still line up to give out their info... *sigh*

now only if kids won't get so lazy and hack the actual site for such info

I had a telemarketeer call me up one time trying to see if I was interested in their free vacation, all they needed was my credit card number to verify who I was. I told them I wasn't interested. They still wanted my credit card number to verify that I was who I said I was. I told them that I didn't need to give them my credit card number to them for me to verify who I am, I know who I am. At that point they said thanks for my time and hung up.

I'm just curious how many people give out their credit card number to verify their own Identities, for them to even ask that question.:disgust:

Next time, keep it going in a loop by asking for their CC and SS # so that *YOU* can verify *THEIR* identity.

Bet that will confuse some telemarketers!

I usualy don't say this, but if people fall for this, they deserve to be scammed. All you have to do is read.
