WARNING: Those who did Wingspan hotdeal beware because wingspan is not secure

WINGSPAN WARNING!

Remember the wingspan.com hotdeal were you deposit $100 and get $100? I did that deal and got the debit card in the mail. I never used the card, never wrote a check and never did any transactions on the account.

Well guess what, someone got ahold of my debit card number and a fradulent charged was placed on my wingpsan debit card in october. I just got my statement today. The only way the person could have gotten my account info was from wingspan (maybe an employee there is committing fraud?) or by hacking wingspan's website because I never used the debit card anywhere and no-one else could have accessed the card number on my end.

Turns out the charge was placed by an internet online billing service. They looked at their records and told me it was from an AOL address and that the card was used for an on-line porn account. Nice, huh? The ridiculous thing is that wingspan will dispute the charge but they said they don't go after the people that do this. The rep said he has no clue how I could go about prosecuting this person. I thought banks and credit card companies went after these people? Apparently wingspan doesn't. What a bunch of losers! I guess fraud through their accounts is ok with them. My advice is to stay away from Wingspan. Withdraw your $100 bonus and be done with them.

So check your accounts and do not put large sums of money in this bank or you may be sorry. Luckily I only had the initial $200 in there. As soon as I get the money credited back to me I am closing my account.

As far as I know, nobody will go after an online fraud for a few hundred bucks. Even if they report to the FBI the FBI will simply not investigate
it unless they receive a lot of fraud reports concerning the same suspect.

Internet has become the heaven of scams! I had much worse experience - I
never got my money back.

Another possibility is that somebody is just using of of the available programs that generate valid CC/DC numbers given a base number to work with.

I find this very interesting for about three months back I discovered a $19.98 charge on my Visa account which I did not make. I called the number listed on the charge and it was an internet billing site and the charge was for a porn site. I don't think they used any programs to find my number as they used my surname but a different first name so it was undoubtedly lifted from an internet site. I build computers for myself and my grandchildren as a hobby and order most of my parts on the internet. I got a new card but now I use an Amex blue which spits out a different number for each order and the number expires in a month or less.

I AGREE CLOSE THOSE WINGSPAN ACCOUNTS...

I got 4 referral bonuses and they took AWAY 3 of them 2 weeks later!! I that was AFTER i had withdrawn all the money so my account went into overdraft!!

Emailing them did not resolve it, calling has encountered friendly people but still no resolution...the BEST thing people could do is take your money and run and CLOSE THE ACCOUNT!! If i had closed the account before they caused all this drama i woulda had my money and they woulda botghered someone else!!
