kind of unrelated question but why so many seller put 'NO credit/debit cards payment accepted thru Paypal' on fleabay?
Is that just because of the fee or some kind of scam?

To accept CC payment you must have a "Premiere Business" account which assesses extra fees for processing CC payments.

Most likely, because they could contest the charges with their CC company. Not so sure about the debit-card angle.

It's because of the fee 99% of the time. You find people all over (including here on FS/FT) that don't consider the service worth paying for so long as they can get it free. Can't say as I blame them, but I have zero problem paying the 2 or 3% in order to get my money transferred quickly and easily. For anything I'm selling, I just bump up my asking/reserve price a buck or two to cover the fees. If someone wants to pay with a money order, I might offer a discount.

NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR INFO. when an email or IM or SMS asks for it. Many (99.99999%) legit company will never do this. The best way to deal with this sort of scam is to not respond or, if it seems legit, ask them to call you or snail mail you the request in print. Or confirm this with the actual company before handing over your info.

REMEMBER: 99.99999% of companies will never request your personal information. They already have it! If they lose it, it's up to them to get it back, not you!

It's simple, don't respond to any emails or links within from "Paypal", go directly to the site.

OMG, I am in shock after reading about Sessions and his denial about getting scammed. Have some pity on the poor fellow. Don't blame the victim (regardless of his stupidity). Those West Africans deserve to fry.

Damn. Kinda harsh PreOmegaZero. Does he owe you money? Old people fall for this kind of stuff because they are scared of being broke and homeless before they die or they are lonely. He has ruined his and his wife's lives and may end up broke and homeless soon but at least he has been a warning for others. I think they should run this story bi-monthly in every newpaper to help protect our less sharp citizens.

Now, as others have said, simply ignore any request for personel info.

Here I thought I got me one of these when I got an email stating my account had been blocked, but when I went directly to ebay it was in fact really blocked. What a pain, now I gotta get rid of the dang block for something I have no clue over. Well, the email said there was a complaint against me, but I know whoever sent it is telling a big'ol fib.

Oh well...
