After 14 months my Corsair 280mm h115i cooler started getting real loud with what sounds like hard drive seeking clicking, and sometimes squealing sounds. I contacted Corsair when i saw i had a 5 year warrsnty and they sent me a h115pro rgb to replace.
They said it was an upgrade but i dont care for colored lights and would be replacing the fans with my ek vardars i didnt think it would be much different.
But i noticed quite a few differences in the new pro model comared to the year old 115i.
The cooler itself is smaller, and lower. I noticed right away that the standoffs were shorter so i removed tohe old and the backplate and used the new ones.
The new cooler sits down 1/4 closer to the board.
Also the tubes are very different. They are smaller diameter and way more flexible. Much easier to install .
I even found i had to swap out the corsair link cable as the new one has a micro usb end instead of the mini usb of the 115i. I have some pictures on my phone which ill add.

The only negative is the new cooler is making some noise too. It will rattle for a bit then get quiet so im going to wait a day or two to see if it settles down. Temps are good

there all made by the same OEM.
Its just different pump shells / sleeving.

One maybe a gen 5 while the new one is i believe gen 6, but they are all still IMO made by the worst company i hate, Asetek. :X
(they killed competition in AIO's so no one can make or innovate a better one by sueing everyone who made it just because they beat swiftech to patients on that drive pump.)

They most likely gave you a gen 6, and you had a Gen 5.

Are gen 6 better? possibly... i hear they did fix some issues, and it seems QC is getting better each gen, but again, its Asetek.

I dont like AIO's unless there is an absolute need to use them, like tight spots.
There are better kits now, and with proper prep they are safer as well from leakage.

Quality wise, i would go with swiftech:

if i had to go AIO, unless it was too bulky and could not fit.
