Warrior Dash

Has anybody ever done this before? The one here in NM is on April 27th and I believe I am going to try it this year. It sounds and looks like a lot of fun and is for a great cause.

It's a great cause for the organizers...what little they actually donate out is probably insignificant. Don't get suckered in because they "donate" to a charity.

It's a fun thing to do with buddies/as a big group. After doing one or two you tend to get bored with them, but the first one you'll do should be pretty fun.

It's fun, but very easy. Unless you are hugely out of shape, you'll make it through the course in under an hour. Not worth the money. Me and a couple buddies are doing Tough Mudder in April. Should be fun.

I did one last year. It was fun and not too difficult. I'm doing it again this year but also doing Tough Mudder as well.

Don't even try and justify it on a charity basis its just a fun time with friends. Get muddy and dirty. Then drink some beer and share a good laugh.

I did it last year as my first obstacle event. It was fun. I raised some money for St. Jude and got the private shower, which was WELL worth it. Not difficult, 3 miles, a fun time. The band sucked at my event. I don't drink so I didn't really stick around for long.

These obstacle course events are being copied ad nauseum now. There's Warrior Dash, Tough Muddle, Spartan Races, Gladiator, etc. IMO, they're all over priced and overhyped.

After this year I'm only going to enter the obstacle courses races that are at least 10 miles. Tough Mudder, Iron Warrior Dash etc. Too easy on the other distances. I will personally admit I'm looking forward to someone having a marathon length obstacle course run. Longest I'm doing this year is Iron Warrior Dash at ~15.5 miles. Limited entry of only like 500 people too. Should be interesting.

Most of the obstacle course events I see are 5K to 8K, except Tough Mudder. Most of the people participating in them would DNF in a real race. :-/

I have. I actually do their WOD 2-3 times a week. Unfortunately the closest Spartan race that's more than a 5K is like a 4-5hour drive. Hoping they bring one of their longer distance races to Michigan next year.

I'm actually most interested in the Iron Warrior Dash. Its in September just outside Grand Rapids Mich. 15.5 miles and what appears to be some really unique obstacles and a decent amount of running between obstacles.
