Hey, first topic I have started in a long while.
Wondering if anyone else on the board was at either of these two events, or plays quiz bowl for their school.
If you were at TRASHIONALS, it would be interesting to know what you thought of the questions and also what team you played for and if you used an alias. I played as Keyser Sobe for Odie: The Musical (I would have called it Brandeis: "It's on my pants" but it wasn't my decision.)
I was 14th individual scorer and had the dubious distinction of having the highest % of my teams points come on my own tossups (the Wilt Chamberlain award.) I also may have had the scariest buzz of the day, identifying the 1927 Yankees at the point "Reliever Wilcy Moore," explaining how I could have possibly written the baseball theme packet.
It would be even better to find some other people who were at the ICT or "Nationals" as some call it. We were playing as a D2 team and we started 7-0, leaving us in 2nd place, but we crashed at the rebracketing and finished 8-6, good for 8th place in the nation. I had another scary buzz when I knew John C. Reilly from the point of "He was in 3 of 5 best"
So, do any of you guys have any idea what I am talking about, because if you do this can be the start of a cool discussion.
