So we were at a friends house last night playing beerpong for a couple hours. I played about 5 games and drank roughly 5 beers (cans) and i was slightly buzzin. Now i drink almost never and i would consider myself a light weight. I asked my buddy if i could crash on the couch and being my bestfriend off course he said sure and let me crash. His roommate who is a semi decent guy, said i was being a pussy not driving home.

I care about my car alot and never would want to risk it being in an accident. Its flawless and even the light scratch sets me off.

would you drive home (30 mins) after 5 beers cans and 5 games of beerpong?

Everybody's different. I'd probably have driven home, but it's hard to say unless you're there. Alcohol affects me differently every time. In any case, you did the right thing. If you don't think you should be driving, you shouldn't be driving. Don't let some asshole pressure you into doing something you shouldn't do.

no, you weren't being a pussy. but the fact that your chief concern about driving drunk and getting in an accident is that you might chip the paint on your sweet ghetto ride, and not the potential for killing someone else....is rather concerning.

In BC, the Legal Limit is now 0.05&#37;(&#37; <<what is this, been seeing it a lot since Forum Upgrad6 aah, it's the percent sign :\) instead of 0.08%. In Ontario a Cop can Fine you and give a 24 Hour Suspension if you have had ANY Alcohol at all(sounds likely to be Abused).

I could most likely drive home very easily on five beers in 2 hours. I've driven after drinking a 60oz draft during dinner at a sports bar.

But I don't recommend it, nor do I ever suggest it - it is the individual's sole responsibility to know when they have begun to lose their driving abilities.

Now, five beers plus some beer pong games (so.. likely another 3 or 4 beers, depending on how close their games were... would be 5 or more but that's if you lose 5 games in a row)... and all in 2 hours? Yeah, that would likely be my "I'm crashing here" phase, unless I didn't drive or, like at school, just walk home fine. That, or if I am alert enough, I could just wait a certain amount of time without drinking any more and be fine a few hours later.

When it comes to drinking and driving, ignore everyone else. Even if people had more to drink than you, were obviously getting a little sloppy, and decided to drive home - don't let that bias your decisions. Don't let other people make the decision for you - you know your body, they don't.
