It was a solid game but I enjoyed Doom 3 more.

I'm about two hours into Q4, and so far I think I like D3 better. It's not bad, but it's hard to imagine a more cookie-cutter, run-of-the-mill shooter.

It's almost as if the game was written by the guys who actually invented the 3d shooter and everyone else has spawned variations.

I wouldn't say Raven invented the 3d shooter, though they have made some great, influential ones. Actually I'd love to see a return to the Heretic franchise, and I also wouldn't mind an updated Soldier of Fortune game.
