If it was, how can I tell by reading the chip. I've been having problems putting this processor in an older board (Epox 8k7a). Epox said it's possible it is a 333 fsb chip? If it wasn't, guess I'll be rmaing the cpu.

The first Athlon XPs with a 333fsb were the 2500+ Bartons and are still the lowest speed with the 333fsb. It is possible though, that you have a Mobile Athlon XP, which runs @ 266fsb but has the 512 KB L2 cache vs the standard Athlon XP with 256KB L2 cache. Most older socket A boards won't work with the 512KB Athlon XPs (Barton core), regardless of the fsb.
