You still have a good CPU. I generally avoided buying top of the line stuff, ever since my $4000 486-DX50 system was made obsolete in a month about 10 years ago. I think the cpu was about $1000 back then. :Q
So don't feel bad. Nowadays the difference between 2nd and 3rd tier stuff is not a lot cheaper. So I broke down this year and got a top-of-the-heap-at-the-time Athlon 1400 system because it was so cheap and it didn't matter if the XPs came out a few weeks later. This is a great time for computing, and it will only get better!
Next year if they come out with some 3 ghz monster you can get the 2+ ghz processor of your dreams for peanuts.
