How would this video help us answer one way or the other? Video doesn't exactly reveal what the guy was doing inside the car, what the cops claim he was doing, etc. Stupid question is stupid.

I'm not sure there would be anything he could have been doing earlier which justified what they did here. He stopped the car. I saw no indication that he was getting ready to shoot them or anything...

Cops are trained to exercise restraint. I hold them to a higher standard than a regular citizen. But you're stupid if you lead them on an hour long chase and expect to be given any benefit of the doubt. You've used up your goodwill and should expect quicker and more severe reactions.
As others have mentioned, not enough info there to draw a conclusion.

If the guy in the car pointed a gun at the cop which he might have done, then yes it was justified, if not then it wasn't.

I think I'll wait before jumping to any conclusions one way or the other.

I will say this though if you're stupid enough to lead cops on a 1 hour chase then frankly I don't give a fuck if it was justified or not. Just one less idiot in the world.

Yep, justified. I don't care if he had a gun or not, after all that any move he made other than hands up in a clear and unmistakable way gave them permission to shoot. Personally, I think the chase itself gives the cops reason to use whatever force is necessary up to and including using the entire arsenal of the police force. If you're running from a traffic stop you're running from something else too.

Can't tell if it was justified because I can't see in the car. If he did in fact have a gun in his hands, I'd be satisfied that this was a justified shooting and close the case, in the absence of any other evidence that it was not.

if they had a really solid id on the driver and veh type for being involved in a previous felony assault with a deadly weapon, its reasonable to use lethal force to prevent him from escaping.

now whether he was stopped with hands out the window or stopped momentarily to just drive off again, is another story.

if you have probable cause hes the suspect, any movement he makes that isnt specifically what you order can be taken as aggression.

its really hard to analyze the justifiability of this one without more factual details....news reports typically put in what they can but often they misinterpret things or get info from third parties
